Dream Valley DT Challenge #76 Vintage.

For my DT post for The Squirrel and the Fox please scroll down to the previous post. Ta.) Good afternoon! I hope you're all having a relaxing Sunday! We have a new challenge at Dream Valley and it's Vintage Our lovely sponsor is The Paper Shelter who are offering a $20 voucher for their digi store!!! I used Victorian Beauty on my card, I love her expression, she's so pleased with herself! The papers are magazine freebies from a while ago, they are printed to look like fabric. I used a snippet of gold paper and a Spellbinders die for the shiny mat. I cut strips of lace and gathered along one edge and pulled it tight to make the lace 'doilies' behind the 3 roses. The roses and ribbon are from stash. The sentiment is a very old wooden stamp without any details on it! I coloured Victorian Beauty with Promarkers, and covered her mirror with glossy accents. Go and see the fabulous work done by the DT over at Dream Valley, they are sure to inspire you to t

The Squirrel and the Fox DT #65 Something Spooled

Hello! I hope your Sunday is going well! I have a thrilling trip to Saino's to do the weekly shop today, but I hope that later on my Mojo and I can get together over a brew and make a card!!! It's time for another challenge at The Squirrel and the Fox! Where has the last fortnight gone??!! Our challenge this time is Something Spooled - that means you can use anything that comes wrapped around a spool or whatever - Ribbon, lace, twine, string - anything like that! Our amazing sponsor is the fantastic Make It Crafty and a very lucky winner will have $Aus10 to spend at Zoe's fabulous online store! Can you tell that I'm a big fan?! I decorated a tin that used to contain peppermint sweets, using a gorgeous MiC image on the lid: And here's a side view: I used Promarkers to colour Rosabelle and fussy cut her out. I stickled the roses, and added a bit of Glossy Accents to her jewels. The paper on the top and round the tin are from the 'Fairy Belle' 6

Have a Purrfect Day

I made a card!!! My mojo has been on holiday in sunnier climes this last few weeks - it didn't help that I had a filthy cold - but I was tidying my craft hovel this afternoon and came across a heap of free-with-a-magazine papers. Hooray, huzza, El Mojo returned! I feel so much better now! I'm so sorry I've been such a bad blogger recently. However, now that I can breathe without snuffling or sneezing every 5 minutes I will be friendlier, I promise!!! Now for the card - it's not my usual style: I've been watching videos by Kristina Werner and Jennifer McGuire and other marvellous crafters who are on the Design Teams of Hero Arts and Simon Says Stamp . Their creations tend to be more clean and Simple. So I thought I'd have a go. The card is cut to American A2 size, ie 5 1/2 inches tall and 4 1/4 inches wide. That almost exactly fits the Hero Arts Tiny Heart Background Stamp . I used Hero Arts 'Pool' ink (I got lots of ink pads with my Christmas

For my DT card for The Squirrel and the Fox please scroll down to the previous post. Ta. Hello again! Apologies for being late with this post, too! Now that I'm a Deputy Church Warden (no need to salute lol!) Sunday mornings can be quite busy! I should have remembered to schedule today's posts. Sorry!!! Anyway, enough of my twaddle! The new Challenge at Dream Valley is to use a Tag on your creation. Our sponsor is Lacy Sunshine Stamps and a winner can choose 3 of their gorgeous images from the store! Go and see what my teamies have done with the lovely images they were given! And here is my card: The alert among you (ie everyone) will notice that I didn't use a digi image. My printer isn't speaking to my laptop for some reason, and refuses to produce anything but blank sheets of paper. (Or maybe it's pictures of a white horse in a blizzard? No, I don't think so, either.) There are three tags on the card, they are made with a Whiff of Joy die, the

The Squirrel and the Fox DT Challenge #63 Love

Good - er - afternoon, everyone! I am so sorry that I'm late today! Finally here is my card for the new challenge at The Squirrel and the Fox and our theme is Love We have a new sponsor this time, Doodle Pantry. Go and see the lovely digis on their site: one winner of this challenge will have a $10 voucher for the shop! Usually, 'Love' means 'Romance' especially in February, but I have made a card for a neighbour who is ill, who definitely needs some love to cheer her up. She has a flower-jug that's almost identical to the one in this digi! The Promarkers I used to colour it are very close to the real life colour of the jug, too. :) The papers are First Edition, from the 'Floral Pavilion' stack, they have a lovely Retro vibe, and a lovely sheen that my camera hasn't picked up, sadly. The ribbon is upcycled from a box of soaps (it smells delicious!) The flowers are by Wild Orchid Crafts, and the leaves are cut with a Spellbinders 'Foliage
