My Time to Craft #375 Wedding/Engagement/Anniversary

Good afternoon, all! I hope you're having a good weekend. Our daughter and the Gorgeous Grandson are here - Oscar is very fast on his feet now, and quite tall, so I've been madly moving various ornaments to much higher shelves than I thought necessary this morning! How quickly we forget what small children can get up to! And how one cheeky grin can melt a doting grandma's heart!

That's why I'm a few hours late with my DT post for My Time to Craft. Our theme is Weddings, Engagements or Anniversaries nice and romantic!

I made a Z-fold card. Here is the front:

Because the Dotty Card by Anna Marie Designs is printed on only one side I cut a piece that's 4.25 by 5.50 inches and a second piece that's 4.75 by 5.50 inches, then scored at 4.25, folded the flap, and glued it so the patterned sides were facing each other. Then I scored at 2 and an eighth inches down the front and folded it back. Does that make sense?

Here is the inside:

I used an old Nellie Snellen heart die to make the focal point. I used Distress Oxide ink to colour the smaller hearts and glued a pice of paper lace, made with the Floral Trellis Die from Card Making Magic on top. The pearl hearts in the corners are from Hobbycraft. The purple heart gem is from stash.

My teamies have made some very beautiful and romantic cards for the challenge, go and see!

Thanks for looking! I'm about to order a takeaway from the new Japanese restaurant that's just opened in Hoddesdon! It's rather good.

Take care!

My Time to Craft #374 Sketchy Time!

Hi, guys! I hope you're all well! We have had an exciting day - the new washing machine has been delivered! We really know how to live a glamorous life here at the Manor!

Even more exciting is our new challenge at My Time to Craft! which is a lovely CAS sketch.

So versatile! I used it to showcase a pretty paper from Modascrap which was included in the June kit by Simon Says Stamp.

The gold card also came with the kit. I added Spectrum Noir sparkle pen to the swags on the balloon and the flowers, and some sequins from my stash.

My teamies have made some gorgeous cards, go and see how one simple sketch can be interpreted in so many ways!

Thanks for looking, and enjoy your weekend!

The Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge #32

Good morning, all! Phew! It's already a scorching day here in S-E Herts, so it's a little odd to be posting Christmas cards for The Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge. Our challenges are always Anything Christmas Goes.

I made 2 cards with decoupage sheets from Hunkydory that I've had for ages! I added silver mats and a silver-embossed sentiment.

I used silicon gel to adhere all the layers together.

I love this old-fashioned pillar box, it reminds me of one that stood outside my grandparents' house in Newcastle-upon-Tyne!

Both images have touches of silver foiling - so pretty!

My teamies have made some gorgeous cards to inspire you, go and see!!

Thanks for looking and have a good day!

Dream Valley #182 All Things Bright and Beautiful

Good morning, my lovelies! I hope you're all keeping well. I am a bit stiff and achey from going on a March in London on Saturday - it was an incredible day, but now I'm aware that I'm not as young as I was!!!

On to our new Challenge at Dream Valley which is All Things Bright and Beautiful. And the Challenge runs until July 28th so there is plenty of time to enter!

I used more supplies from a Love from Lizi kit.

The paper has glossy leaves and is gorgeous! I cut the toucan from gold card and layered it on some white paper, and there is a 'nest' of shiny fine thread behind it. The butterflies show better irl, they were made with a Martha Stewart punch.

Go and see the bright and beautiful creations my teamies have made!

Thanks for looking, and have a great week!

My Time to Craft #373 Make a Stamped Background.

Hi, guys! I hope you're all keeping well. Our new Challenge at My Time to Craft is to Make a Stamped Background. It can be made with rubber stamps or digis.

I am determined to make better use of the card kits I subscribe to, so I had the Everything Together stamp set from the May 2018 Simon Says Stamp kit and decided to use the solid flower and leaf stamps for my background, with some Hero Arts dye inks.

Inspired by our Jedi Master Shell's card for our Circles Challenge last month, I die-cut the centre of my piece, matted it on card, and replaced it using fun foam.

The sentiment is from Simon's Uplifting Thoughts stamp set and reads 'There are so many beautiful reasons to be happy.' I added a ribbon from stash and gold stickles to the centres of the flowers.

Do go and see what my talented teamies have made, the variety is very inspiring!

Thanks for looking, and have a great weekend!

The Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge #30

Good morning! I hope you're all keeping well! We have a new Challenge at The Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge which as always is Anything Christmas Goes.

I have been sorting my craft hovel (again!) and dug out a lovely filigree leaping stag stamp which came with a magazine last year. I embossed it in Antique Gold embossing powder from Altenew, which is gorgeous, and decided to go for a more shabby chic look than usual.

I fussy-cut the image and layered it on a circle of blue vellum and a doily, edged with a string of pearls. The gold-embossed sentiment is from the magazine stamp set. I used Vintage Photo to distress the edges of the cardbase and the paper, which is from stash. The Lace and stars came from an old kit from Crafteezee and the ribbon and flower are from Wild Orchid Crafts. I added Glamour Dust to the wooden stars and the dewdrops are from stash.

I also used a lot of Glossy Accents to glue everything in place, as I'd mislaid my glue gun!

Now I'm going to continue sorting all my craft stuff - my hubby very kindly handed me a big bin bag on Sunday - do you think he was hinting I should - gasp! - get rid of things???

Thanks for looking, and have a good week!

Dream Valley Challenges #181 Add some bling.

Hi, guys! Today we have a Blingtastic Challenge for you at Dream Valley. I might have gone a bit Over The Top with my card.....

This adorable image is Sweet Blossom by Whimsy Stamps. I coloured her with Copics and added Gold Stickles to the centres of the flowers and the bodies of the butterflies. I added sequins from my stash.

The papers are from stash: I used a Martha Stewart punch to make the green border and added some navy Nuvo Crystal Drops and a gold glitter Peel-Off from Love From Lizi to trim the join. The baker's twine has blue glitter threads. The heart is die-cut from gold glitter card, and the sentiment die-cut is made with gold mirri card. Finally I added some Wink of Stella to all the blue flowers on the bp.

Do you think that's Blingy enough???

Our fab sponsor is Dies to Die For which is a treasure-trove of crafty goodies!!

Have a look at the fab inspiration left for you by my teamies on the blog and get out your blingiest, shiniest, sparkliest supplies and go to town on our Challenge!

Thanks for looking and have a grand week!

My Time to Craft #372 Holidays

Hi, guys! I'm so sorry this is late, I thought I'd scheduled this! The best-laid plans of mice and men gang aft agley!

Anyway, at My Time to Craft our new Challenge is Holidays. That's not necessarily Christmas, but Easter, or summer holidays too. I went for summer!

The images and sentiment come from an old Simon Says Stamp kit. I coloured and fussy-cut the ice lolly and flip flops, and added glossy accents to the lolly. I embossed the sentiment with SSS steel blue embossing powder, it's very shiny! The paper is from an old paper pad by Echo Park, and the orange twine is from Lawn Fawn.

Go and see the inspiring creations my teamies have left for your perusal on the blog!

CRAFT Challenge #470 Come Play Outside

Morning, all! I hope you're all well and looking forward to a great weekend!

Sadly, this is my last DT post for CRAFT Challenge. It's been a blast, and the DT is full of the loveliest ladies, all very talented and kind. However, life has become rather busy recently - in fact I'm scheduling this on Wednesday afternoon, I hope I've done it right!!

The Challenge this week is Come Play Outside.

This is Owen Building Birdhouse from Paper Nest Dolls. The paper is from stash and the sentiment is from the Scripty Sayings set by Lawn Fawn.

Our sponsor is Paper Nest Dolls.

Go and see what my lovely teamies have made to inspire you!

Thanks for looking, and have a great day!

The Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge #30

Hi, guys! After the sunshine of the last few days it's turned overcast and humid today - maybe we'll have more thunder and lightning! Usually thunderstorms go from south to north here, following the line of the River Lea about a mile away, but the other night the lightning was all across the sky! Very impressive!

To take my mind off how hot and icky I'm feeling, here is my card for The Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge. I used items from a kit from Simon Says Stamp.

The Santa is from Christmas Squad by Simon, the papers are Doodlebug's Milk and Cookies collection. The ribbon is from stash as are the gold sequins. All Santa's fur trim has been covered with Stickles!

I used a rectangular and a square die to make a 'polaroid' but I should have used slightly smaller dies, because I think it's too big. Never mind, we live and learn!

Go and see what my teamies have created on the Challenge Blog! It's always Anything Christmas Goes at The Holly and Ivy!

Thanks for looking and have a good day!

Dream Valley Challenges #180 For a Man or Boy

Morning, all! I hope you're enjoying the Bank Holiday.

Our new Challenge at Dream Valley is For a Man or Boy or as I like to say 'For a bloke!' I made a baby card, as I seem to be needing a few these days! My kids' generation is at that age - it's a bit strange, because I remember them when they were much younger, and surely it's not that long ago?

The cute duck is Baby Huey by our sponsor Cute as a Button.

I did the 'out of the box' technique on the ballon, which I covered with Glossy Accents. The papers are from stash. The sentiment is an old one from Clearly Besotted and I used a die for the word 'Baby.' The star stickers came from Paperchase a long time ago.

Go and see what my teamies have made, they will inspire you to join in!

Have a good week and thanks for looking!

CRAFT Challenge #469 Father's Day or Male

Morning, all! I am scheduling this post as I have hospital check-ups tomorrow and I don't know how long it will take! However, the good news is I'm still in remission from my bowel cancer. It's amazing to think that it's now 2 years since I started my treatment - and thanks to the incredible doctors and nurses of the NHS I am still here!!!

So I hope this post appears at the right time. We have a topical theme at CRAFT Challenge which is Father's Day or For a Bloke..

This lovely image is Lighthouse by Sweet 'n Sassy. Icoloured it with Promarkers. The paper is from stash, I cut it so that the centre, where the lines cross, would be behind the top of the lighthouse, and added Spectrum Noir sparkle to the coloured wedges, and also to the yellow section of the lighthouse. The die-cut 'Dad' is made with a very old MFT alphabet die, and covered with Glossy Accents.

Our great sponsor this week is Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps.

My Time to Craft #371 Circles

Morning, all! I hope you're all enjoying your weekend. Our new Challenge at My Time to Craft! is simply Circles. That is, use more than one circle on your card. I have quite a few on mine!

I have this Mod Circle Frame Die from Simon Says Stamp. It's gorgeous, but quite tricky to use: it needs fairly sturdy card and a lot of little dots of glue in the corners and along the lines - I found out the hard way that Stick-It sheets don't work as the lines are so thin!!

I cut several papers with the same die and inlaid them into the frames. I do love that look, though it can be fiddly. The sentiment is from the Everyday Greetings set by Mama Elephant and reads 'Enjoy the small moments.'

My inventive teamies have left some lovely inspiration for you on the blog, do have a look!

Thanks for looking, and have a great day!

CRAFT Challenge #468 Christmas.

Good morning! Well, after all the excitement of last week's Birthday Blog Hop we are back to normal with our monthly Christmas Challenge at CRAFT Challenge.

This darling monkey is Cracker Chester from Little Miss Muffet Stamps. He is so cute, and he stars in other images at LMM, each one more adorable than the last! Check him out!

I added Glamour Dust to the trim on his hat. The background papers are from an old Kaisercraft pad: the green piece is glittered and the red and white piece is foiled. The scalloped border is from the same pad, and the green ribbon is from stash. The sentiment is an old one from Clearly Besotted.

Our sponsor is Little Miss Muffet Stamps.

The Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge #29

Evening, all! I don't know where this month is going, it's already time for a new Chllenge at The Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge! As always the theme is Anything Goes for Christmas. And of course you don't just have to make a card!

I found some old Hunkydory Christmas designs (they were in a box under the sofa!). The toppers are foiled and very shiny! All I added to this card was a piece of organza ribbon and a silver mat:

I must use up some more of my Hunkydory goodies!

Thanks for looking and take care!

Dream Valley # 179 Summer Colours

Hi, guys! I hope you all had a great weekend! Who watched Eurovision? I've had a nasty cold, so I watched it well-wrapped up in a blanket with some medication and a wee whisky toddy (or two.) I love Eurovision, it's so kitsch and so much fun!

Now I'm almost back to normal and here (belatedly!) with my post for the new Challenge at Dream Valley. Our theme is Summer Colours which is a great reason to dig out your most vivid papers and inks!!

This bright striped paper was in my stash, and I used it to choose my Promarkers when colouring this cute image. She is Fireflies from Star Stampz. I added Nuvo Drops in Limoncello to many of the fireflies to give some shine.

The sentiment is from an old Hero Arts set, I used Spellbinders dies for the images and mats. The ribbon was a magazine freebie long ago. The butterflies were cut with an old Joy! crafts die and glammed-up with some Spectrum Noir Sparkle pen.

Our gorgeous sponsor this fortnight is Star Stampz. Do check out the adorable images on the site! So cute!

Have a look at my talented teamies' creations on the Challenge blog, the fab summer colours will inspire you!

As always our Challenge at The Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge is Anything Goes.

I have so many pretty Christmas papers that I decided to make cards highlighting some.

I added sparkle to the Santas' beards. The base card has lines embossed into the corners, using a score board and bone folder. The die-cut sentiment is made with an old die by Simon Says Stamp, and the stars are from stash.

Dream Valley #178 Add Ribbon/Lace

Good morning from a very chilly South East Hertfordshire! I hope you all had a good weekend. We discovered that our porch is slowly coming away from the front of the house! The wonderful bloke who mended our roof earlier this year showed me that it's resting on sand and gradually toppling forward. So he's going to brace it underneath and add concrete which will hopefully do the trick.

Hey ho, there's always something that needs repairing, isn't there?

On to happier things - a new Challenge at Dream Valley. Our theme is Add Ribbon and/or Lace. I used both!

This elegant dancer is Perfect Pointe from Sheepski Designs. So pretty!

The papers, gems, lace and ribbon are all from stash. I used an MFT Die-namics Stitched Oval Scalloped Frame as a border to the image, and glammed-up her outfit with a Spectrum Noir sparkle pen. The sentiment is from the Clearly Besotted Message Me stamp set.

Our sponsor is the fab Sheepski Designs
