Image
Good morning! As you read this I will be on my hols in Northumberland. I hope my scheduling has worked! At Dream Valley we have a topical theme: Back to School. Our sponsor is the fabulous The Paper Shelter This adorable image is Back to School! While reorganising my craft hovel I came across some unnamed papers, and some School stickers, also unnamed. I put the stickers onto white cardstock to strengthen them before cutting them out. The corners are cut with a Whimsy Shapeology Trio of Corners die and lightly Stickled. Go and see the fun creations my teamies have made, and join in the Challenge! Thanks for looking! love Mags B x

My Time to Craft Challenge Flowers

Image
Hi, guys! I hope you're all well! We have a lovely Challenge at My Time to Craft - Flowers. We would like to see one or several flowers as your focal point (ie not just on the background paper!) I used a lovely image from Clearly Besotted Stamps it is from the Fresh Flowers set. I white-embossed the flower on watercolour paper and used Distress Inks to colour it. The sentiment is silver embossed. I used a Lawn Fawn stitched rectangles die to cut it out, then layered onto pink and silver cardstock. The technique is one I learned at Online Card Classes 'Watercolor for cardmakers' class. Thanks for looking! love mags B x

Dream Valley DT #113 - Use a Charm

Image
Good morning! For the first time in days we have blue skies and sunshine, and everyone seems to be smiling! We have a great Challenge at Dream Valley this fortnight, and it's to add a Charm to your creation. Our sponsor is the wonderful Diane at Di's Digi Stamps she draws the most adorable images! I have quite a few of her images already, and used the cute 'Hedgehog Blossom' to make an Anniversary card: I apologise for the faded photo, the colours are brighter irl! I used Promarkers to colour the Hedgies, and gold glamour dust for the centre of the flower: I chose purples to resemble a Michaelmas Daisy. The papers are a freebie (again!) and they are 'Rose Garden' by Marianne Designs. I used some lace from The Ribbon Girl and a length of purple thread over it. The charm was a RAK from my daughter. I added a Memory Box Breezy Wreath and some butterflies punched with a Martha Stewart punch and then glittered. Go and see the charming creations

My Time to Craft DT #302 Easel card

Image
Hi, guys! I hope you're all having a good weekend! At My Time to Craft this fortnight we would like to see Easel Cards . Here is a link to Christina Griffith's instructions on how to make one, and also some variations. She also has a video. I made a 'twisted' or 'skewed' easel - they look very impressive but they are actually quite easy! I used a Sarah Kay image from Stampavie - sadly, the firm has closed down, because of what Bev Rochester calls 'epic piracy. So sad. I coloured her with Copics and added Glossy Accents to her watering can. The image is die cut with a My Favorite Things Die-namics stitched oval die, and I distressed the edges with Broken China. The 'Thanks' die-cut is by Clearly Besotted and I added Glamour Dust for sparkle. The papers are First Edition Floral Pavilion. The stopper is a LotV sentiment, raised on foam pads. I added 2 tiny crystal butterflies and some gems from stash. Do have a go, especially if y

CRAFT Challenge DT #324 Christmas Animals - and a warning about a phone scam.

Image
This morning I got a phone call from a man claiming to be D C Morris of Paddington Green Police Station, saying someone had cloned my credit card. Luckily, I knew that this is a SCAM designed to trick me into revealing my bank details. If you get one of these calls, use another phone to call 101 and report it to the real police! Now back to your regularly scheduled programmes! Our CRAFT Challenge is Christmas Animals . We have some great sponsors: 1: Bugaboo Stamps 2: Lacy Sunshine I used Bugaboo Stamp's Merry Christmas to Ewe isn't he adorable? I made a Shaker card, using fun foam rather than just foam tape to give the dimension. The sequins and paper are from stash, and the sentiment came with the image. Trot over to our Challenge blog to see the fun cards my teamies have made and be inspired! Thanks for looking! Baaa-bye for now! love Mags B x

CRAFT Challenge #323 Recipe

Image
Good morning! Our CRAFT Challenge this week is a recipe: Our sponsor is Sunflowerfield I made a circular Christmas card, and the image is on a square mat (those are the 1 image and 2 shapes part of the recipe): My 3 papers are MME 'Snowed In' which were a magazine freebie, they were pieced together and I used a Spellbinders Grand Circles die to cut the shape. The four gems are from stash. On the inside I added a pocket and a tea bag is doing stunt duty for a sachet of mulled wine spices, this is going to accompany a bottle of red wine for a Christmas present this year: Go and see my teamies' interpretations of the recipe, then have a go! Thanks for looking! love Mags B x
