Dream Valley Challenge 33 - Humour

Image
As you can see, my first attempt a scheduling a post didn't work! Apologies for being late with this fortnight's Dream Valley card. Hi guys! I hope you're all enjoying lots of lovely sunshine! Once again it's time for another challenge at Dream Valley ! The last challenge was quite tricky, but this time we have a lovely simple one - HUMOUR We have two wonderful sponsors this time each with a fab prize: Bugaboo is offering $21 to spend on their gorgeous images and there's a £10 voucher on offer from Crafty Emma's Store Jodie very kindly let the DT have some of her fab fun images - I used one of her wonderful drawings of Gus , who always makes me smile. I love the sentiments that come with the images, too! The papers are from the 'Togetherness' stack by Cosmo Cricket. I distressed the edges with Antique Linen Distress Ink (it seemed the most appropriate choice!) I used a Woodware corner punch to give a bit of interest. The ribbon and shell

A little bit of magic might help

Evening, all, I hope you're well. It's been a SCORCHIO! day - summer is here! Hooray! Unfortunately a dear friend is confined indoors recovering from an operation, but I hope this Whiff of Joy image will cheer her up. I used Spectrum Noirs to colour her. I'm a bit annoyed, because when I pulled the lid off the green pen to do the final colouring the whole nib came off and the inner tube went flying across my desk! Splodges all over my papers! Luckily none landed on the image, but I had to cut her out instead of using a Nestie. So I shall be a lot more careful with these pens in future. I'm just glad no ink landed on my background papers, which are from the first Nitwits download I ever bought, eighteen months ago, called 'Cherry Blossom. The flowers are Wild Orchid Crafts and the metal spray is from stash. The gold corners are Whiff of Joy, and so is the sentiment. I put Glossy Accents on the potion bottles. I coloured some white seam binding with Spun Sug

Paper-pieced Willow

Evening, all! I'm sorry I haven't posted in a while, it's been quite manic here but Ye Olde Manne and I have finally arranged a weekend away in Shropshire to visit our granddaughter. I can't wait! Unfortunately a good friend hasn't been well, so I've made her a 'cheer you up' card.  I was originally going to enter last week's challenge at Whiff of Joy which was for paper piecing, but I was unexpectedly out today and missed the boat. I used Willow with Sunhat and she's on clearance sale at the mo, so if you like her, get in quick! I like paper piecing, it can be fiddly, but I find it relaxing when in front of the tv. I used MME papers that were free last year - or maybe the year before?  I cut out her dress and hat and then glued the scarf and apron over the top, that's a bit easier than cutting out bits that have to be put together like a jigsaw! The rest is coloured with Promarkers and the flowers are 'stickled pink'. (lol

Dream Valley DT Challenge 32 CASE

Image
Good afternoon! I'm sorry this post is a bit late, we had a big Baptism this morning, and then there was the excitement of a trip to Saino's! Anyway, better late than never, and I'm here with the latest Dream Valley Challenge . (You may want to grab a cuppa, this is a long post!) This time the theme is CASE the DT Our wonderful regular sponsor One Stop Card Crafts is offering a £10 voucher. Our other wonderful sponsor this fortnight is Crafty Ribbons who are offering one of their gorgeous 'Bev's Bags' of ribbon. Ok, I had to have 'CASE' explained to me. Apparently it means either 'Copy And Steal Everything' or 'Copy And Selectively Edit.' I prefer the second definition! Basically we're asking you to pick one of the DT's cards on the Challenge blog and use it as your source of inspiration. Simples! But PLEASE can you state in your post just whose card you picked and which bits inspired you? Thanks! I've Kept It S

Thank you!

You guys are wonderful! xxx love Mags B x

Tilda and butterflies

Happy Bank Holiday! Is it raining where you are? We have typical BH weather - wet, grey and cold! So I have spent the day clearing and chucking-out, and a bit of cardmaking in between! This little Tilda is one of my favourites! She looks so surprised at the butterfly that's landed on her gorgeous bow. I used some of the new *Summer Limited Edition Promarkers, they are such pretty colours I just couldn't resist them.  The challenge at A Passion for Promarkers is 'Light and Bright' - either use bright papers and soft coloured pens or vice-versa. I went for some bright papers by Raspberry Road that were free with 'Quick Cards' which are also quite shiny, though my naff camera skillz haven't really picked them up. Following an example by the lovely Jules I used checked paper from the stack instead of plain card for matting. The swirl is a Marianne die, the cute butterflies are a Woodware punch. I coloured them with Promarkers to match the image and
