My Time to Craft DT Challenge #338 Feathers.

Image
Evening, all! It's time for new challenge at My Time to Craft and we have an unusual and lovely theme - Feathers. So you can use feathers on your creation, or birds - or both if you so desire! I received some feathers in a gorgeous Crafteezee kit from Noor! Design UK . Each monthly kit has a different theme, the feathers came with an Art Deco set, so I decided to make a couple of Art Deco-type cards. Yes, TWO cards! I made them both at the same time. I cut gold and black card with a MFT Die-namics Chunky Chevrons cover-up Die and glued the frames onto my card bases. Then I inlaid the black chevrons into the gold frame, and vice-versa. The sentiment is from an ancient wood-mounted die, and I used a stamp-a-majig to make sure it was straight on a scrap of black card, then embossed in gold. I cut back the front of the card and glued the sentiments on the back. Then I added the feathers, and also two fabulous ornaments , also from the Noor! Shop. I'm so pleased w

CRAFT Challenge #400 - Love/Valentine's/Anniversary

Image
Hi, guys! I can't believe that it's already a whole month since Boxing Day! Next month we will be celebrating St Valentine's Day - and our new CRAFT Challenge has a theme of Love/Valentine's/Anniversary . Very topical! I have made a wedding card for a friend's daughter, who is getting married in the spring. The colour she has chosen is a gorgeous burgundy, so that sorted out my colour scheme! I made a circle card to echo the moon on this gorgeous Over the Moon image by All Dressed Up Stamps. I used Copics to colour it - I made sure to scribble off the pen tips first, since I've found that my reds and greys can be very juicy. I covered the flowers and the bride's veil and gown with clear Wink of Stella. The paper is from an old magazine freebie, and I cut it with a Cheery Lynn die. The card base is cut with Grand Nestabilities circle dies by Spellbinders, and originally I was going to use the gold heart brad to hold them together, but it was easi

Dream Valley DT #148 All About Love

Image
Hello! It's Dream Valley time again! Our Challenge this fortnight is All About Love so let's see lots of gorgeous, romantic Love creations - and remember, it doesn't have to be a card! We have a terrific sponsor: Pink Gem Designs I used an older image, this is Little Gem with Rose. She was the owner's dog - I hope it's ok to use the image, which is no longer available, but there are lots of equally adorable dog stamps on the website. I coloured her with Promarkers (Cool Greys for her fur and Forest Green, Green, Fuchsia, Pink Carnation and Blossom for the grass and the rose). I used a Spellbinders Hearts Circle die to make the mat. I used a new dies from Sue Wilson for Creative Expressions: Heart of Hearts and backed it with purple cardstock. The rosebuds are also new, they are by Apple Blossom and came free with Die-Cutting Essentials Magazine no 19 . I sponged Distress Ink over the rosebuds while they were still in the die. The lace and ribbon a

CRAFT Challenge #399 Christmas

Image
Morning, all! Yes, you read that title right, it's our regular Christmas theme at CRAFT Challenge! I hope you're not too 'Christmassed-out' to join in! I went for a more elaborate card than usual, the image seemed to want it! The sweet image is Christmas Bulbs from our sponsor, the fabulous A Day For Daisies. The papers are from an old Papermania pad, and the flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts . The little pinecones came with a fabulous Kit by Crafteezee, obtainable through the Noor!Designs uk shop. The pine leaves are made with a die by Cheery Lynn. The ribbon was a present from my daughter. I glittered the flowers and leaves and added Wink of Stella Clear to the Christmas lights on the deer's antlers. IRL it sparkles, but the photo hasn't picked it up. Our sponsor: A Day For Daisies Thanks for looking! love Mags B x

CRAFT Challenge #398 Box or Bag

Image
Hi, guys! I hope you're all having a good week; and for those who aren't, I hope things improve very soon. Our new Challenge at CRAFT Challenge is to decorate a box or bag. I made a bag, using this youtube video. I used designer paper and ribbon from my stash for the bag. The fun image is Frazzled Fran needs her coffee No 154 from Oddball Art. I coloured her with copics and fussy cut the image and also one of the sentiments that come with the image, and stuck them onto the bag. I had a pack of coffee to include, but sadly my hubby has used it, so I'll have to get more!! Our lovely sponsors: The Cutting Cafe Oddball Art My very talented teamies have, as usual, produced some gorgeous creations to inspire you, do go and see! Thanks for looking! love Mags B x

Dream Valley Challenges #147 Something New

Image
Hi, guys! It's a grey, wet January day here in S-E Herts. I have been listening to music and having a MASSIVE clear-out of my craft hovel - as always when I start tidying, the room looks 10 times worse than it did, but I'm determined to get it sorted! Here is my card for the Something New Challenge at Dream Valley . I went with a New Home card, using two sweet House images from Digistamp Boutique . There is a SALE on at their site at the moment, and some gorgeous bargains to be snapped up! Go and see! I was originally going to layer the houses (which I coloured with Promarkers) onto patterned paper, but decided they looked so much more bright and cheerful against plain white. I fussy cut them and popped them onto foam squares to give some interest. Sometimes the simplest cards take me the longest, as I'm always trying and discarding different ideas! The sentiment is an old stamp from Lili of the Valley but it seems to be out of print now. Ok, time to finish

CRAFT Challenge #397 Recipe

Image
Hiya! Happy New Year! Wishing you all the best for a happy, healthy and crafty 2017! The first Challenge of 2017 at CRAFT Challenge is this Recipe: We'd like you to use ONE image, TWO patterned papers, and THREE flowers. I made a birthday card for a young man: My IMAGE is Birthday Mickey Monkey from Digital Delights by Louby Lou - isn't he cute? I coloured him with Promarkers and added glitter to his hat trim and Wink of Stella to the Balloons. My two PATTERNED PAPERS are from a very old paper pad by Cosmo Cricket called 'The Boyfriend.' The three flowers, and the leaves, are from the In the Jungle stamp set by Woodware and I fussy cut them after colouring. I added the lower leaves first, then added the flowers on foam pads. The Sentiment tag is by Lili of the Valley. Have a look at my teamies' lovely work, it's amazing how different their interpretations of the recipe are! Thanks for looking! love Mags B x
