My Time to Craft #389 All You Need is Love

Image
Hi, guys! I hope you're all keeping well and looking forward to a great weekend! Our new challenge at My Time to Craft is All You Need is Love and I'll be humming that Beatles song all day now! It's not just for Valentine's Day but includes weddings, anniversaries, or something to say 'I love you.' I used papers from the 'Love Story' paper pad by First Edition, and the sentiment circle is a tag cut from one of the papers. It reads 'How sweet it is to be loved by you.' I added some lace from Crafteezee and ribbon from my stash. I covered the hole in the circle tag with a crystal flower from my stash. My teamies have left some gorgeous 'loving' inspiration on the blog, have a look and join in! Thanks for looking, and have a lovely weekend! love Mags B x

Dream Valley #194 Use a Doily and a Brad

Image
Hi, guys! Well, apparently today is 'Blue Monday' which is the most depressing day of the year, according to an advert put out by a travel company back in 2005! I wonder why they chose gloomy (in the Northern Hemisphere) January to advertise holidays in sunnier climes?! However, there's a simpler solution to cheer everyone up - a new challenge at Dream Valley! We have a really unusual theme: Use a Doily and a Brad. Our sponsor is the gorgeous All Dressed Up Stamps. Wendy very kindly sent the DT a couple of very pretty images touse - check out what my teamies have done on the Challenge blog! Unfortunately my printer gave up the ghost over New Year just at the time I needed toprint my image out! Fortunately I had another sweet ADU girlie already printed out. Phew! This cutie is Flyaway Butterfly. I used papers from a very old pad which came with a magazine, and cut the edge of the pink piece with a Spellbinders Scalloped Borders One die. I used the Doily to d

My Time to Craft! #388 Winter Birthday!

Image
Good morning! There's a new Challenge at My Time to Craft! and our theme is Winter Birthday. I have made a card for a bloke, in wintry shades of blue and white, as I have a birthday for an important Olde Manne in my life coming up soon! The papers are very old, I found them in my stash when sorting ye olde craft hovel. I embossed a sentiment from Simon Says Stamp's Big Scripty Sayings in their Steel Navy embossing powder, which is lovely and shiny. I added sparkly baker's twine, and 3 snowflake sequins, and also dots of Navy Blue Nuvo Drops. My teamies have left some gorgeous inspiration for you on the blog - check it out! Cheerio, my dearios, I hope you have a great weekend! Thanks for looking! love Mags B x

Gorjuss Card for a Gorjuss Girl!

Image
Hi, guys, from a grey and chilly S-E Hertfordshire! My daughter-in-law loves the Santoro Gorjuss range, and luckily I have a few Gorjuss stamps, so I combined my favourite with some glittery, shiny snippets for her card this year. I coloured the image with Copics and added a flower sequin over the skull ornament in her hair. I fussy-cut her, then layered her onto a circle distressed with Spun Sugar DI. The sentiment is cut with a Love from Lizi birthday die from shiny pink paper that was originally a card base. Yes! I'm using stuff up!! Ok, back to yet another Grand Tidy-Up of ye olde craft hovel. I'm being ruthless, RUTHLESS I TELL YOU! I hope all is going well for you all - it's nearly the weekend, huzza! Thanks for looking! love Mags B x

The Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge #43 - and a DT Call!

Image
Hello! The Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge is back! And you have until February 10th to join in! I apologise that I'm a day late with my post, yesterday was one of those days of what my Mum called "pottering" - just doing the odd jobs left over from the holidays - and I forgot the Challenge! I need to write 'To-Do' lists - and not lose them!!! Anyway, here is my card, which was made using the Simon Says Stamp December card kit. I stamped and embossed snowflakes from the Christmas Cheer stamp set, then blended Distress Oxide inks over them to make the sky. The Santa and signpost images are from the same set.  I added diamond stickles to the ground area and to Santa's hat trim to give some sparkle. I also used stickers from the same kit on another card: This time I used patterned paper for the sky and white card (and stickles!) to make snowbanks for the ground. If you're not 'Christmassed out' do go and see the lovely inspiratio

Dream Valley #193 Anything Goes

Image
Hi, guys! Welcome back to Dream Valley! . We're backwith our first Challenge of 2019 and it's Anything Goes. Our sponsor is LeAnn's World 101 and the prize is 3 digis from her shop. I used Cheering Caty - isn't she sweet? The papers are from Stay Colorful by American Crafts. I fussy cut the image and added her on foam tape to a die-cut circle Distressed with Spun Sugar Distress Ink. I added Nuvo Drops to the scalloped circle and a few sequins. The sentiment is from an old Lil' Inkers stamp set and is gold-embossed. Go and see the pretty creations my teamies have made, using this and other cute images from our sponsor! Thanks for looking! love Mags B x

Home Sweet Home

Image
Hello, my lovelies! I hope you're all keeping well. Now that the Festive Season is over I have been clearing up (again!) - as usual after a visit from the Gorgeous Grandson there have been toys to put away for next time, and tiny socks (so cute!) to match! However, I found time to make a New Home card, as my daughter and son-in-law are buying a house and hope to move at the end of the month. My little girl is so grown up! The centre square is a gorgeous canvas-textured paper from a Love From Lizi megapack last year. I coloured in one of the houses with Copics. The ribbon and sequin flowers are from my stash. I can't recall where the background paper came from! The black layers have a bit of sparkle added, I have had this for yonks and I'm almost out of it! Hopefully this card will be winging its way to Ireland soon! It's such a palaver coping with all the paperwork etc. when buying a house. One thing that makes me quite angry is that the health insurance re
