My Time to Craft! Challenge #367 Sketchy Time!

Image
Hello, my dearios! I hope you're all having a great weekend! Our new Challenge at My Time to Craft! is this fabulous sketch: Simple yet elegant, don't you think? Rather than add an image to the sketch, I stamped a gingham pattern. It has a distressed look (because my stamping was a little heavy-handed in places!) Take a look: Everything except the silver-embossed sentiment by lawn fawn and the tag cut with an old MFT die comes from the Simon Says Stamp March 2018 card kit. I also added some vellum circles under the flowers - the flowers and leaves were coloured with Copics and fussy-cut with a narrow white border and are raised on foam dots and covered with Spectrum Noir Shimmer pen. I finished the card by rounding all the corners with my good old corner chomper and went round the edge with a white gel pen. It shows just enough to give a bit of interest. I am so pleased with this card! It's for a particular friend who's been unwell, and I think she...

The Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge #25 and DT call!

Image
Our DT Call runs until the end of March! Check out the post here! Hi, guys! I love blue and white for Christmas and winter cards, it's such a clean and fresh combination! I used an old Hero Arts/Basic Grey background stamp with Simon Says Stamp Surf Blue ink on the front of the card. The paper behind the circle opening is from stash. The snowflakes are cut from plain white card and given sparkle with a Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pen. The sentiment is silver-embossed and edged with a blue glitter gel pen. It has been very wintry of late, with snow and bitter winds, but Spring begins tomorrow and hopefully we'll see more sun! Go and see my teamies' gorgeous creations, and check out that DT Call! Thanks for looking! love Mags B x

Image
Hi, guys! There's a new Challenge at Dream Valley and it's Spring Colours. Spring is just around the corner - the clocks go forward in the UK this coming weekend on Palm Sunday! The adorable image is Will Work For Carrots by Paper Nest Dolls. The background paper is from an old First Edition set and is gorgeous - the images are all matt and the background has glitter all over it! The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp, it came in a kit. I added 3 dots of Nuvo Drops under the image, but because of the glitter background the card didn't need anything else. Our sponsor is : Paper Nest Dolls. My teamies have left some gorgeous inspiration for you, so ignore the snow and the bitter wind, get out your Spring Colours and join the fun! Thanks for looking! love Mags B x

CRAFT Challenge #459 Animals

Image
Hi, guys! If it's Thursday there must be a new CRAFT Challenge! Our new theme is nice and easy - Animals. Here are some frogs having fun! Aren't they cute? The image is from ScrapNDipity . I used papers from an old Bo Bunny collection called 'Ad Lib.' The sentiment is from Altenew's Label Love stamp set. I cut the centre panel too narrowly and had to add another piece, and I covered the seam with some very old paper ribbon to hide it! There's usually some way to hide a mistake, isn't there? Our sponsors this week: ScrapNDipity and DRS Designs. Do hop along to the Challenge blog and enjoy the fab inspiration my teamies have left to inspire you! Thanks for looking and have a good weekend! (Not long now!) love Mags B x

My Time to Craft #366 Easter/Spring

Image
Good morning! Whan you read this I will be busy helping out with the annual Church Spring Clean! It's a lot of fun, loads of laughter and also CAKE to keep us going! In the meantime I've scheduled today's post for our new Challenge at My Time to Craft where our theme is Easter or Spring . In keeping with my New Year's Revolution to USE my kits I have found an image printed on TH watercolour cardstock from Simon Says Stamp's March 2016 kit. I used Distress Inks to colour the image, then cut round the top edge and layered it on foam pads on a piece of distressed blue paper from stash. The sentiment is also from an SSS kit, and the speech bubble is from an old Paper Smooches set. I added sparkle to the Easter eggs and Glossy accents to the chick's bill and heart. My watercolouring is slo-o-o-wly improving but still not as good as I'd like. Practice makes perfect!! Go and see my teamis' lovely creations, and join in the Challenge - SPRING IS ...

We have our regular Christmas Theme at CRAFT Challenge this week! This cutie is Overstuffed Santa by Lacy Sunshine stamps. I love that his toy sack is stuffed with delicious cookies! All the papers are from an old pad by Kaisercraft, including the sentiment. The glitter trim at the top is made with a punch and I used the trimmings to add to the bottom of the card to give more festive bling! Our fab sponsor is Lacy Sunshine. My teamies have made some lovely creations to inspire you - do join in!! Thanks for looking and have a great weekend! love Mags B x

Be Dazzling!

Image
Morning, all! One of my New Year's Revolutions was to USE the card kits that I have amassed over the years! I have been making cards with a kit from Love From Lizi. I rounded two corners of my base card, added a strip of Versamark ink and gold-embossed, then added a pretty paper from the ket and a gold glitter peel-off. The gorgeous wooden diamond is gilded, it's much more gold irl. I added gold and white bakers twine from my stash. The sentiment is from a cut-out that came with the kit, I added Glossy Accents to the letters. The star banners are made with a die that came with the kit, backed with gold glitter card. Finally I added sequins. Not my usual style, (and the photo makes the colours look dull, unfortunately - there's a lot of gold sheen and glitter here!) but I like it! Thanks for looking! love Mags B x

Dream Valley Challenge #174 Vintage

Image
Hi, guys! We have a new Challenge at Dream Valley - Vintage! Our lovely sponsor is Di's Digi Stamps and I have used this fabulous 1920s Flapper Girl image, which I have had for some time. Sadly she is out of print now. The background paper and sentiment are from the Downton Abbey collection from Crafter's Companion, they were a magazine freebie. The pearls and lace are from stash. For the frame around the image I cut 3 frames with Spellbinders dies and glued them together, then added gold Nuvo mousse to the top layer. All the edges are distressed lightly with Vintage Photo Distress Ink. My teamies have made some beautiful cards following the theme! Charleston over to the Challenge blog and have a look! Thanks for looking! love Mags B x

Hello Unicorn!

Image
Evening, all! I hope you've had an enjoyable weekend! I am relaxing with a bijou sherryette as a chicken casserole simmers away on the stove! I recently made this card for a friend of my daughter. Laura is a writer of horror stories - now, I'm not a big horror fan, but her book Naming the Bones is so very good. Do check it out! The adorable Hello Unicorn is by The Greeting Farm. The paper is gorgeous, it's covered in glitter, and is from an old paper pad by Kaisercraft called 'Save the Date.' Time to check on the spuds and casserole and open the wine! Thanks for looking and have a great week! love Mags B x
