The Squirrel and the Fox DT Challenge #75 Anything Goes

it's one of those all-time favourites at The Squirrel and the Fox - Anything Goes!

Our wonderful sponsor is the amazing Make it Crafty And if you use one of their fab images you will get an extra shot at the prize of a $10AUS voucher for the store!

I have had this gorgeous guy, Floppy for quite a while, but never got around to using him. (Shame!) And when presented with an 'Anything Goes' Challenge my default is to go with a Christmas card!

I think he is so cute!

The sentiment is silver-embossed: it came from another Australian stamp firm, Tickled Pink Stamps - sadly, they no longer trade as such, but CCDesigns now have some of their fab stamps by Christina Dee (she is so talented!)

I used Promarkers to colour Floppy, and added Glossy Accents to his bell and Glamour Dust to the fur on his hat. The green mat is edged with a Martha Stewart Punch Around the Page Snowflake Punch. The background paper is a snippet from an old digi set by Lili of the Valley, and I added stickles to the centre of each snowflake. The red ribbon is from stash.

Now, you'd think that a fairly simple card like this would be fairly simple to make, and I suppose that, in the end, it was. But I had already tried 2 separate designs, adding glittery snowflakes, and lace, and bling, - but elaborate cards only took attention away from this little cutie, and eventually I realised that I needed to be much more CAS!

Do any of you guys go through that kind of faff before producing the final, finished article?!

Go and see what my teamies have made, they will inspire you!

Thanks for looking!

love, Mags B x

Hi Mags, Oh yes indeed I go through 'faff' as you term it. My term is perhaps not of the same polite usage, but I know what you mean! I like your little guy, and the coloring is brilliantly done. The MS punch trim is pretty with the background paper design. You have a beautiful card here, and so very cute. TFS & Hugs

A lovely christmas card Mags. Such a cute image and love the design. I very often find myself faffing around before deciding a project is finished. I sometimes never quite know when to stop lol.
