Image
Hi, guys, Happy Solstice! At Dream Valley this fortnight we would like to see Summer Colours. Our sponsor is Di's Digi Downloads I used some very bright papers from an old paper pad, 'Paisley Road' by Prima, the bright orange, pink and turquoise remind me of the colours that were fashionable in the 1970s! My Time to Craft DT #323 Summertime....

Image
.... and the livin' is easy! Our topical Challenge at My Time to Craft is Summertime so we'd like to see bright summery colours, summer activities, summer flowers and so on. To be honest, I was really tempted to go with an image of someone holding an umbrella! There's been so much rain of late! But I kept my card bright and sunny, maybe the weather will get the hint! This beautiful image is Sunshine by Ching Chou Kuik. I coloured her with Promarkers and added Wink of Stella in clear all over her dress. The Frame behind her is by Joy Crafts from Noor! Design, as is the die I used for the two leafy fronds on the left. The wreath die is Catalina Wreath by Memory Box. The papers came from a magazine a long time ago! I used a retro flower punch for the layered pink flower, and a Martha Stewart PATP punch for the yellow horizontal border. The sentiment is from Say It In Style by Clearly Besotted. Do join in our Challenge - if it's grey and gloomy where yo...

You Are Very Special

Image
I have had several occasions recently for which I've been making cards, so there may be posts from me this week that are not DT cards!! This one has been received by my neighbour, who has had a tough 18 months coping with breast cancer. Thankfully she is healed! She has been absolutely wonderful about my bowel cancer, full of sympathy and good advice. The coloured card is from Anna Marie Designs and is a beautiful shade of lilac. I used a Spellbinders Die, Card Creator 5 x 7 Reflective Moments and layered it with foam pads. The sentiment is stamped in Mama Elephant Stargazer Pigment Ink, and the stamp is from Be Happy Today . The tear-shaped purple gems are from my stash. I hope your weekend is going well. For all my Welsh friends - CONGRATULATIONS to Wales for winning their first match at Euro 16! It wouldn't surprise me if they got at least a draw against England on Thursday! :) Thanks for looking! love Mags B x

CRAFT Challenge DT #367 Inspired by a Film

Image
Good morning! I hope you are all having a good week! It's time for another CRAFT Challenge and this time we'd like you to be Inspired by a Film We have two excellent sponsors: Doctor Digi's House of Stamps and Bugaboo Stamps I used The Chosen One from Bugaboo's Har Repotter collection - I love these images! So useful, too, since most of my kids' friends are fans! The striped paper comes from an old Christmas collection by Papermania, it echoes the stripes on The Chosen One's tie. The yellow and white ribbon actually has a chevron pattern, so I put two lengths together to give a 'lightning strike' effect. The stars are cut with dies by Simon Says Stamp and W Plus 9, using patterned holographic card for added bling, and the sentiment is by Lawn Fawn. I added Glossy Accents to his specs and gold and red stickles to the magic sparkles coming from the wand. The film that inspired this card is, of course, Harry Potter and the Philosoph...

Dream Valley DT Challenge #133 Vintage

Image
Good morning! It's Monday already - where did the weekend go? To cheer you up we have a new challenge at Dream Valley and our theme is Vintage A great excuse to go overboard with lace, flowers, distressing and pretty papers! Our sponsor is the amazing Crafty Ribons Here is my card: My background paper is from an 8 x 8 'Floral Pavilion' pad by First Edition, and I distressed the edges of the paper and the card base with Vintage Photo. The sentiment is from a very old Penny Black sentiment set and says 'Happiness is time spent with a Friend.' I had the oval frame in my stash, it was rather brash white plastic so I dabbed Cranberry and Terracotta Alcohol Inks by Ranger onto it. The shape behind is cut with a Spellbinders die from the 5 x 7 Heirloom Legacy set, and it is also distressed with Vintage Photo. The vine is cut with a Spellbinders Floral Bundle die, the flowers are by Wild Orchid Crafts and the lace and gem swirls are from stash. 'Vi...

My Time to Craft DT Challenge #323 Teddy Bear's Picnic

Image
Good morning! I hope you're having a good weekend, with some sunshine! Here in S-E Hertfordshire we have had cold and overcast weather all week. Flaming June, eh? I have had 2 chemo sessions so far, and so far the side-effects haven't been too bad - I am very lucky. My hair is thinning, so last week I had my bob changed to a very short and spiky pixie cut. A new 'do always lifts the spirits :) Now for our new Challenge at My Time to Craft! and our theme is Teddy Bear's Picnic - that is, use a Teddy Bear image on your creation. I have used an older Lili of the Valley stamp, unfortunately no longer available, but they have other adorable Bear stamps still! The sentiment came with the stamp. The background digipaper is from The Bees Knees Collection by Nitwits. I used a Cheery Lynn mini flourish die to cut the green vines, and a Spellbinders Roses die for the flowers. The ribbon and gems are from stash. Have a look at my teamies' inspiring creation...
