Hi, guys! Our Challenge at My Time to Craft is Bugs and Insects That includes butterflies! However, whatever you choose, please make sure it's the main image or part of the main image, tiny bugs on background papers don't count ;)

This adorable bee is by Paper Smooches from the Bee Mine stamp set, as is the sentiment. The background is the Hexagon Background by Hero Arts, I white embossed it and sponged with yellow Distress Inks, then used a spellbinders die to cut the hole where the bee is peeping out. The papers and twine are from stash.

Buzz across to the Challenge blog and have a go!

CRAFT Challenge #296 Valentine/Love

Our new challenge at C.R.A.F.T Challenge is a topical one - Valentine or Love.

this cute digi is Country Hearts designed by Floppy Latte for Stitchy Bear Stamps. I embossed the card front before adding the image, which is coloured with Promarkers. The image is edged with papers cut with a Fiskars Bubbles punch.

The sentiment is by Paper Smooches, and I used a matching die to cut out the banner. Finally, I went over the hearts with a Wink of Stella pen.

Our Sponsors:

1 Stitchy Bear Stamps have a $10 voucher as a prize

Please note that now if you are in the EU and want to buy a digi from them there is a new system in place, because of the new EU VAT laws for digi downloads. Like so many other very small businesses, Stitchy Bear have had to change their methods and send purchases by e-mail, but it's well worth the wait! At least they are still in business, thank goodness!

2 Yours or Mine Papercrafts also have a $10 voucher as a prize.

Have a look at my teamies' gorgeous creations and feel the lurve!!!

My Time to Craft DT Challenge #276 'Two or more people'

Good morning! I hope you're having a happy weekend!

At My Time to Craft this week we have a very specific theme, we'd like to see Two or more people on your creation. And, remember, it doesn't have to be a card, any craft is welcome if it follows the Challenge rules!

I did make a card, though!

This totally adorable image is by Sarah Kay. They are coloured in Copics (I'm still practising!). I used 2 dies from Mama Elephant to cut the image with a postage stamp edge, and to cut the paper with a stitched edge. I used Distress Ink on the image mat. The background paper is from the Floral Pavilion stack by First Edition.

The sentiment is by Studio Calico, it came with a kit.

My teamies have excelled in their creations, as usual - go and see and be inspired! Remember we'd like to see at least 2 people on your creation!!

Now I'm going to watch craft videos on Youtube and do a humongous pile of ironing!

Thanks for looking, and have a great weekend.

C.R.A.F.T Challenge #293 Recycle

Edited to add: so sorr yfor the delay in posting, I made a mistake when scheduling this. :(

Happy Thursday, everyone! And Thursday means a new challenge at CRAFT Challenge! This week our theme is Recycle Please make sure to list the items you've recycled for your creation!!

This beautiful image is Pearls in My Hair by A Day For Daisies, one of our marvellous sponsors this week. I coloured her in Copics. The background paper is from the 'Mariposa' stack by DCWV. There is a doily, edged with Walnut Stain Distress Ink, just visible behind the image. The gold paper is actually wrapping paper left over from Christmas, cut with a Spellbinders Edgeabilities die.

The lace is from stash, the ribbon came with a box of Lush bath bombs and smells lovely! The swirl die-cuts are made with a Magnolia die and the flowers are by Wild Orchid Crafts except the white one, which is Prima. The wooden bird is coloured with copics and Glossy Accented. The corrugated card is taken from some packaging and edged with Picket Fence Distress Stain.

My recycled items are: wrapping paper, ribbon and corrugated card.

Dream Valley DT Challenge #98 Anything Goes

Welcome back to Dream Valley! I hope you all had an enjoyable holiday!

We are back with an all-time favourite Challenge Anything Goes! Our sponsor is Gerda Steiner Designs. I used Iceskating Mouse - although he's really a Christmas image I thought he was perfect for a 'Hello' card for an ice-skating friend!

I coloured him with my new Copics (I'm still getting used to them, but I love them!) and went round the edges with Salty Ocean Distress Ink. The mat is cut with a Spellbinders Heart Circle die. I added some bakers twine from stash and the Scripty Hello die-cut is from Lawn Fawn

The spotted paper is from the Summer Blues paper stack by Tilda - it came from Hobbycraft last year but unfortunately it seems to be out of print :(

Skate over to Dream Valley and admire my teamies' gorgeous creations, and then why not join in?

My Time to Craft Challenge #

It's Saturday! That means there's another Challenge at My Time to Craft!

Our theme is Love is All Around - that can be Valentine's Day, a Wedding, an Anniversary....

I went with a Valentine's card - a round one lol!

The card base is made with a Spellbinders Circle Die: I scored half an inch down on the back circle and glued the resulting flap behind the front.

The heart is cut with a Nellie Snellen die from white cardstock, then I embossed 'Love is everything' from the Favorite Flowers stamp set by Simon Says Stamp and coloured the heart with Festive berries Distress Ink.

The papers are from the 'Love' 6x6 stack by Fancy Pants. I punched lots of circles and stuck them round the edge - a great idea from Kristina Werner

This is a very bright card!!!

Do go over to the Challenge Blog and see my teamies' creations and be inspired to 'feel the love' and join in!

Thanks for looking!

C.R.A.F.T.Challenge #294 Christmas

Yes, our next C.R.A.F.T Challenge is Christmas!. Get ahead of yourself, every Christmas card made before December is a bonus lol!!!

I don't think I've ever made one this early....

I used the beautiful Lady Jane by Scrapper's Delights and coloured her in Promarkers. I followed a tutorial in Donna-Marie's Colouring e-book though using different colours. I can highly recommend this book, it has taught me a lot. AND all the money goes to a homeless charity, too!

The green mat is a Spellbinders Floral Oval die, and I added some red spotted paper from the snippets drawer. I used glittered poinsettia paper from a Christmas Vintage 12" x 12" pad by First Edition which came from Hobbycraft last year. The ribbon is from stash, and the Lili of the Valley sentiment was stamped in Tsukineko Delicata Gold Ink.

We have one sponsor this week, Scrappers Delights

I'm sure you have all begun to notice that some digistamp companies have closed or are no longer selling to the EU because of the administrative burden of the new EU VAT laws. The law was designed in 2008 to close a tax loophole exploited by Amazon, iTunes and other big firms, but unintentionally affected microbusinesses, too.

There are 2 petitions you can sign:

to Vince Cable MP

to EU Commissioner Pierre Moscovici

Next year this will be applied to physical goods, so if you know anyone who sells handcrafted items to the EU please let them know about the petitions.

The law was passed in 2008, when there were almost no 'kitchen table' digi businesses. Now there are hundreds of thousands who just don't have the resources to comply with what's demanded.

For more info see Digital VAT 2015 on Facebook.

Thanks for bearing with me!

My Time to Craft DT Challenge #274 Stripes

Good morning! I hope you're all having a good weekend and that you're staying safe and warm if your weather is bad. I have been doing my traditional January tasks - clearing out all the out-of-date food that gathers in my kitchen and fridge/freezer! I'll have to do a Big Shop to replenish supplies!!!

It was a nice change to make this card!

Our Challenge this week is Stripes. You can use stripy papers, or stamp your stripes on your card, which is what I did. I used a stamp from Be Joyful by Simon Says Stamp, and shades of pigment inks by Mama Elephant in an ombre pattern.

I cut my base paper with a frame die, also from Mama Elephant and after stamping cut a circle with a Spellbinders Die. The flower is from the Best Mom Ever stamp set, also by Simon Says Stamp. I stamped in black Versafine and clear-embossed, then watercoloured with Worn Lipstick Distress Marker. I added it behind the cut out with foam tape and used more foam tape to stick it onto my card base.

The sentiment is from the Penny Black T for Transparet Sentiment set. Finally I added a few sequins.

If any of you follow Kristina Werner you will recognise the card that inspired me!

Go and be inspired by the lovely examples at My Time to Craft and join in the fun!

I made a little recipe folder, following instructions on this youtube tutorial. The base is a very cheap file folder!

Here is the inside, showing pockets where recipes can be tucked in.

Diane's Daydream's Designs - sadly, she is closing down her shop, but go to our Challenge Blog and see the awesome prize she is offering!

Sad news

I apologise that I have been MiA quite a lot in the past fortnight. Sadly, my father was taken ill before Christmas, and he died at New Year. He was 95, which is a pretty respectable age, and until December had been in good health, for which we are all thankful.

I don't yet know what needs sorting and organising at his house over the next 2 or 3 weeks, but he had no Internet so I may be a bit irregular!

Thanks for being so patient!

with love, Maggie xxx

CRAFT Challenge #292 Colour Combo

Happy New Year!

The first C.R.A.F.T Challenge of 2015 is to use a really pretty colour combo.

I used this adorable Octosailor from Karen's Doodles, one of our sponsors.

I printed him twice, and fussy cut the wave section and added it on foam pads, then gave it some sparkle with a clear Wink of Stella pen. The mats are cut with Spellbinders dies. The paper is from the Snippets drawer, and the round stickers in the corners are from Paperchase.

Our lovely Sponsors:

Pattie's Creations Digital Stamps

Digital Delights by Louby Lou

Karen's Doodles

Wishing you all the best for 2015!
