My Time to Craft! #477 Animals.

Image
Good morning, all! Welcome to a new Challenge at My Time to craft! Our theme is Animals. I have been digging through my older stamps and came across two adorable images by Penny Black.  The frogs are perfect for a friend who volunteers at a Community Farm where they have a lot of frogs in their pond.  The second is for a couple who have just announced their engagement and who love Birdwatching.   I found some paper in my stash that looks like water splashes which seemed just right for the image! The sentiment is gold-embossed and is from a stamp set by Altenew full of 'Happy Birthdays' in different fonts and sizes.  I underlined the sentiment with a couplw of shiny green peel-offs by Love from Lizi. For the background of the geese I wanted a paper with some bright orange and found this one by Basic Grey many years ago.  The sentiment is cut with an old die by Clearly Besotted.  I used a Scallop Corner Chomper on the top corners and brushed Peeled P...

Dream Valley #195 Love and Kisses

Image
Hi, guys, from a grey and drizzly Hertfordshire! We have a romantic new theme at Dream Valley - Love and Kisses. Just in time for St Valentine's Day!! Our lovely sponsor is Di's Digi Designs and a lucky winner can choose 3 of her sweet images. I have made a congratulations card for an engagement. I used both birds from the Woodware 'Love Birds' stamp set (which sadly seems to be out of print) and stamped them facing each other. I love the folk art 'vibe' and coloured them in lots of different Copic colours. I covered a die-cut pink heart with Spectrum Noir clear sparke pen and added Glossy Accents over the top. The hearts on the birds have also been sparkled! I layered papers from a very old magazine freebie, and then some pink card. The card base is 5 x 7 inches. I hope the ladies I made this for will like it! Go and see the romantic creations my teamies have left to inspire you and join in with the love!! Thanks for looking, and have a g...

Lovebirds

Good morning! I hope you're all having a wonderful weekend! I am about to watch some cricket on the telly while doing the ironing. Before then, I have an engagement card to share. I have known the young lady since she was born, she is a lovely lass, but it is very hard to realise she's old enough to be married! It seems scarcely 5 minutes ago that she was a toddler!! I'm sure that time speeds up every year: did Einstein have an equation for that? Or is it Quantum? I used an old digi from Squiggle Stamps - some of their images are now available from The Stamping Shack Well worth a look. I used Speccies to colour the image: I outlined each bird in the very palest (PP1 and BT1) colours to give a 'glow'. The hearts and flowers have dots of red Stickles added. The mat is cut with a Spellbinders Heart Circles die. The sentiment was a freebie some time last year, I added Eucalyptus Stickles to the stars. I cut it with a Spellbinders die and also cut the same shape...

Penny Black engagement card

Image
Hi, guys! Just a quick post on a quick card made for the engagement of a couple of my daughter's friends. The stamp is Penny Black, and I used scraps to paper-piece the image in pink and green. I used a Nestie Labels Three that I got at the Ally Pally. The paper ribbon is from stash (I think it was from Whiff of joy) and the rose is Wild Orchid. Simples!! I'm going to enter the lovely Jules's Snippets challenge, because althoug this only used smidgens of paper, it was still all from scraps!! Thanks for looking! luv, Mags x

A rather special engagement.

My son and his girlfriend got engaged on Friday! This is the card I made for them - it's a bit OTT! I made a simplified step card for the base: fold A4 card crossways to make a tent fold, then cut down the middle to a bit less than halfway. Fold one of the flaps forward and back to make a nice crease, then invert it to make the step. This side view might be more useful than my explanation! I got the technique from Christina at the card-making-magic website Papers are Bearly Mine Designs and they're gorgeous! Flowers are Wild Orchid, the sparkly purple flourishes are Marianne. The images are Tickled Pink Stamps - I do love their stamps! Oops! I've chucked the list of Promarkers, though I remember Lil' Lad Luca's suit is done in Cool Grey 2 - 5. Martha S's hearts punch was used on the horizontal strip and Nesties fro the shapes behind the images. Ribbon and heart pin are from stash. This is the biggest card I've ever made, and it took ages! I did a bit here...
