My Time to Craft Challenge 333 - Distress It! And a DT Call

Image
Good morning! We have a DT CALL at My Time to Craft! . We re a very friendly group, so if you would like to join us, hop over to the Challenge Blog and get all the details there! Now on to our new Challenge which is Distress It! You can use Distress Inks and a blending tool to colour the edges of your papers, or use scissors to rough them up. I did both - and it's another Christmas card! You can just about see that I used Tea Dye Distress Ink to add colour to the background paper, which is by Papermania from an old pad. I also used scissors to roughen the edges, and made sure that I didn't glue up to the edge so I could lift it up (I hope that makes sense!) The totally gorgeous image is Candy Cane Angel by Hannah Lynn for Crafts and Me. I glittered her wings and the fur trim on her outfit. The ribbon and lace are from stash. The snowflake is made with a Laced Pine Sowflake die by Cheery Lynn and I used glitter embossing powder to give it some shine. I heat e...

Lace/Ribbon, Pink, Embossing.... and....

Image
Yesterday I posted my DT card for Dream Valley which follows a Bingo card. You take ONE line, vertically, horizontally or diagonally, and that determines what you use on your card. Click on the pic to get a clearer view. Now here is the first card I made for the Challenge, using Bookworm Fairy by Hannah Lynn for Crafts and Me who are one of our sponsors. I thought I'd go with lace/ribbon, pink and embossing. So what is it about this card that would have made it ineligible if I'd entered the Challenge? There's EMBOSSING on PINK Centura Pearl cardstock, the image is mostly PINK and there is a row of LACE and RIBBON at the bottom. The sentiment is EMBOSSED, too. But.... the image has been DIE CUT with a Spellbinders Majestic Labels Eight DIE. There are PEARLS added. And there's a panel of PATTERNED PAPER from Lili of the Valley I must have been away with the fairies when making this card, because I've used too many of the items on the Bingo grid! Tho...

Dream Valley DT Challenge #111 Embossing Wet or Dry

Image
Happy Monday, everyone! I had intended to spend the day watching Test cricket while doing the ironing, but after England's pusillanimous collapse against Australia yesterday there isn't any cricket, so I'll be watching craft videos on Youtube instead! Before then, here is my card for the new Challenge at Dream Valley and we'd like to see Embossing . This could be dry embossing with a folder, or heat embossing. Our sponsors are: Crafts and Me and The Hobby House I used the cutest image from Crafts and Me, this is Red Hatter I dry embossed pink Centura pearl for the background and heat embossed the LotV sentiment. The paper is from an old 6 x 6 pad by My Mind's Eye called Quite Contrary. The ribbon is from stash and the roses are from Wild orchid Crafts. I used a Woodware punch for the leaf sprays. Have a look at my teamies' lovely makes, then get embossing!! Thanks for looking, and have a good week! love Mags B x

Dream Valley DT Challenge #106 Things With Wings.

Image
Hi, guys! yet another fortnight has whizzed by, and it's time for another Challenge at Dream Valley . Our theme is Things With Wings - Fairies, Angels, Butterflies - anything with wings should be your focal point. Our sponsor is Crafts and Me . I have used a cute image Glowing Love Girl . I coloured her with Promarkers and glittered her wings and also the magic dust swirling from her wand. I used an old Whiff of Joy swirl stamp and hero Arts Soft Pool ink to make the flourishes around her. I am so sad that Whiff of Joy is closing down. The papers are Promises by Lili of the Valley and Nitwits and the sentiment is also LotV. Lace and ribbon are from stash, and the flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts Do fly over to Dream Valley, be inspired by my teamies' gorgeous creations, and join in! Thanks for looking, and have a great week! love Mags B x

Valentine cards!

Image
This is the Valentine card I've made for my hubby. He does not do cute. Not at all. He also doesn't do flower embellishments, I learned on Sunday. Grrr! Actually, he doesn't really do Valentine's Day, but I'm not going to let that stop me from making him one! I had no idea what to do, and then I saw that Crafts and Me Challenge want RED this week, and Crafty Cardmakers want Hearts. I put the two together and came up with this very red card! The stamp is ages old, and came free with a mag. The flowery image is the actual stamp, the solid image is the back, which is made of foam. I inked with embossing ink and embossed with glitter red powder. The red borders of the squares are holographic red card. Neither the glitter nor the shine of the holographic paper has come out in the photo, but irl it is sparkly! The heart gem was a RAK from my daughter, and the lovely heart paper is a download from Pink Petticoat I love those cute little hearts! Now, this next card is on...
