Cheers!

Image
Hello, all! I hope your Monday is going ok! I have made a card that isn't for a DT! I recently bought Clearly Besotted's Hip Hip Hooray stamp set, which has not only a cute Viking family and a longship, but also a foaming mug of BEER! Perfect to use on a card for a bloke! Rows of beer mugs! The sentiment is also by Clearly Besotted, it's quite old by now and not on the website alas. Through the little aperture you can glimpse someone... And here he is on the inside of the card! Isn't he the cutest Viking ever?! The 'Cheers' sentiment comes with the same set. I had a lot of fun making this card! Thanks for looking! Skol! love Mags B x

The Squirrel and the Fox #39 Spring or Autumn.

Image
Hi, guys! I hope you're all keeping well. It's Mothering Sunday in the UK - I hope all you Mums out there are being pampered! It's also time for another challenge at The Squirrel and the Fox and the theme is a Spring or Autumn card (depending on which Hemisphere you live in.) Our lovely sponsor is Oak Pond Creations and Kimberley is offering a lucky winner three digis - go on over and have a look at her site, there are some gorgeous images there! The DT were given some digis to play with, and I fell for this fabulous image at once! Apologies for the faded picture, the colours are brighter irl! I used Promarkers, and distressed round the image with Squeezed Lemonade Distress Ink. The heart has been Glossy Accented. The mats have all been cut with a Nestie. The paper is Papermania Capsule Collection and the flowers are made with my faithful Woodware punches. The gems are from stash, they are transparent ones coloured with Gold Promarker. Do go and have a look a...

Cupcake!

Image
Good evening, my lovelies! I hope none of you has been troubled by the flooding in some parts of the UK, the pictures on the News have been awful. And, look, it's raining again! I think I'm going rusty. Twenty-six years ago tonight, after a very hot and dry day, I was in hospital with my brand new, gorgeous baby daughter asleep beside my bed. She was so tiny and cute! Now she's all grown up, but she can still be cute now and again, when she's in the mood lol! She also bakes amazing cupcakes, which do my diet no good at all! So when I saw this Whimsy stamp by Meljen at Angel Crafts I just had to buy it! This week, Sacha's favourite colours are red and blue, which is convenient because I could use Nitwits Tour of London papers. They are so pretty! Though every time I go on the website there seem to be more and more totally irresistable papers! The doily, which is Cheery Lynn French Pastry Doily Die from Dies to Die For (they have a sale at the moment! But I...

Is this a record?

Image
I began this card back in January! Then I put the image and papers away 'in a safe place' which is always fatal! I only found them yesterday, so this card has taken me 3 months to make!!!!! Should I phone the Guinness Book Of Records?! Wot a plonker! The image is Silver Fairy from Whimsy Stamps - I love her wings, they cry out for lots of lovely glitter! The papers are from Funky Hand I think. Flowers, lace and the gold corner are from stash. I adapted one of the sketches on Dawny P's blog, she has several and they are all nice and straightforward. I'm entering the challenge at Flutter By Wednesdays which this time is 'open' - ie anything goes as long as there's a fairy, butterfly or angel. I'm also entering the Sweet Stampin' Challenge where there is also an 'anything goes' theme. Also I'm entering the Paper Sundaes challenge which is 'Spring Blossoms'. There are flowers in the fairy's hair, as well as on the card! (Tha...

Butterflies!

Image
My daughter has been making cupcakes. My kitchen looks like an explosion in a cake factory! Here's a card she commissioned for a friend who likes 'pretty' but not 'cute.' I used a scrap of K and Co paper for the background, and the glittery butterflies were cut from a piece from the 'Mariposa' stack by DCWV which was fluttering in my scraps drawer. I found these gorgeous glittery stickers at the bottom of my Christmas papers drawer - heaven knows what they were doing there! So I decided to use them for the inside of the card. Simples! Although the stickers weren't snippets, the rest was, so I'm entering Jules's Snippet Challenge. It's so encouraging to know I'm not the only one with a paper snippets overload!! Thanks for looking, and have a good week! luv, Mags x

I could have danced all night!

Evening, all! Here's a CAS card I made for a friend's birthday at the end of last month. I'm very pleased with this one - I find CAS cards tough, but this one looks ok, I think. You'll all be shocked to know that I didn't use Promarkers! Well, they bleed through, and this is a one-layer card, so I dug out my stazon and Distress Inks instead. I'm entering this into the Penny Black Saturday Challenge where the theme is 'Anything Goes.' I love this Penny Black ballerina, she makes me smile! I used Tattered Rose and Worn Lipstick, Tea Dye, Vintage Photo, Peeled Paint and Broken China. Her ribbon is stickled in purple. The greeting is stamped in Broken China. Simples! Thanks for looking, and sleep well! luv, Mags x

Sketch Saturday birthday card

Image
This card is for a chum of my daughter's, who reaches the ancient age of 24 tomorrow! The image is The Greeting Farm, one of the Oliver and Amelia sets. The sketch is this week's Sketch Saturday and I really like how it showcases the Basic Grey 'Origins' paper. The buttons are from the button-box I inherited from my MiL, the little ones have a really pearly sheen. I used embroidery thread to make the ties. I have just realised I forgot to add a sentiment to the bottom right corner - wot a plonker! It's too late now, the card will be out of the front door in about 5 minutes! I hope you're all having a good weekend! Thanks for looking! luv, Mags x Promarkers: Tan, caramel, cinnamon, Burnt Sienna; Dusky Pink, Putty, Pastel Pink; Honeycomb, Burnt Orange; Powder Blue, Sky Blue, Azure; Ivory, Lime Green, Lime Zest, Tulip Yellow, Gold
