Anyone for Anya? and Snippets!

Image
Hey, guys! I hope you're all well! I've not been around as much as I'd like, mainly because I've begun the Gigandor Super-splat Tidy Up and Chuck Out - well, the old man will be retiring in 8 years, when we expect to move, so I ought to get a start on clearing out now, so I have enough time!!! This is my first card of 2012 - I know, it's shocking! It's 3 weeks since I carded!! Anyone for Anya? has a lovely sketch this week and I have a teenage girl's birthday coming up, so lovely Miss Anya Winter jumped out of the stamps drawer! I used Promarkers and one of the Flexmarkers that my lovely hubby got me for Christmas to colour her, and Ice Stickles on her muff and fur trim. I distressed the oval with Milled Lavender ink, and stickled around the edge. I used a Nestie for the frame, and the pearls are from Whiff of Joy. The sentiment is also TGF, I think, and the scroll is also by Spellbinders. I cut it from card and also shiny purple paper which I think was ori...

Summertime at Anyone For Anya?

Image
At last Mr Blogger seems to be behaving! I hope you're having a great weekend! I'm sitting here listening to the England Cricket Team become the best in the world, it's thrilling stuff! I appreciate that few others share my obsession, so I'll move on! This little cutie is 'Summer' from The Greeting Farm's 'Roll Call' set which I got last year, I think from Quixotic Paperie . The current Anyone for Anya? challenge is "Summertime", so as well as using the image I chose bright, summery colours and paper with summer roses on it. Papers are scraps of Craft Creations gingham and Flower Delight by Bearly Mine . The flowers are Prima with adhesive pearls in the middles from my stash. The ribbon is recycled, and coloured with Peach Promarker. I also ran the same colour round the oval card and then stickled. The sketch is a pretty one from Sweet Sketch Wednesday Well, I ought to be tidying now - India are now 221 for 9! 1 mo...

Anyone for Anya and Inspirational Card Sketches

Image
Afternoon, all! I have had a very nervous time today - yes, I tore the papers for this card, and it left me a bit of a wreck! I was so scared I'd rip in the wrong direction! Silly, isn't it - it's only a bit of paper!! It's not turned out toooo badly. The papers are Pink Petticoat Vintage Rose - so pretty! I distressed the edges with Spun Sugar DI and then stickled. The image is The Greeting Farm from Dies to Die For, but she was the last in stock, I'm afraid! I used a Nestie, also distressed and stickled, and stamped a Whiff of Joy Christmas Swirl in the corners then stickled them, too, but it's not showing too well. It's just to break up the white background, really. The swirl is a Marianne die, the ribbon is from Hobbycraft and the flowers are, of course, Wild Orchid Crafts I'm entering 2 challenges with this: the sketch is from Inspirational Card Sketches . And Anyone for Anya wants a teen/punk card - this is definitely a teen card!! Thanks for lo...

Anyone for Anya and Sketch and Stash

Image
It's been too long since I entered the Anyone for Anya? Challenge. This week the theme is Easter, or a calendar page for May. So I made an Easter card! The sketch is from Sketch and Stash Challenge . The requirement is to say which old or new stash has been used - I always find this challenge is a good one for encouraging me to use old stash! So here goes: I've had the Miss Anya stamp for ages, and isn't she great for Springtime! The papers are Honey and Hugs, and the yellow is from stash. The lace ribbon is from Hobbycraft, the flowers are Wild Orchid, the glittered swirl is a Marianne die and the leaf punch is Woodware. All of those I've used before, but the Easter greeting is from a new stamp from Pink Gem - there wasn't enough room for the whole greeting so I cut it in half. I distressed the edges of the oval with Shabby Shutters DI, and stamped in the same ink with a very old swirl stamp, then I glittered the swirls. It's supposed to look as though Anya...
