My Time to Craft #382 Halloween or Cats.

Image
Hi, guys! I hope you're all having a good week! We have a new Challenge at My Time to Craft which is Halloween Or Cats. Halloween because it's mid-October and Cats because not everyone wants to make Halloween cards. As a rule I don't make Halloween cards, mainly because I have so few friends who'd like one, but this time I fell for an image from the Love from Lizi October crd kit. Too cute! Everything came from the kit, it's so much easier when everything is designed to co-ordinate! Otherwise I spend ages fossicking around for suitable papers! Prowl over to our Challenge blog site and be inspired by my teamies' creations! Thanks for looking and have a great weekend! love Mags B x

CRAFT Challenge #334 Black and White and 1 other colour.

Good morning! It's a damp, grey and gloomy Thursday - perfect crafting weather! It's also time for a new CRAFT Challenge and our theme is Black and White plus ONE other Colour . Just that! Yes, it is quite Challenging!! I made a Halloween card, using Scarry Mummy from Spyder's Other Corner. The background paper is from an ancient Black and White pad by Papermania. The spiderweb and spiders are Die-namics by My Favorite Things - I don't think it's available now, unfortunately. The spiders are Glossy Accented and have red gems for eyes. My 'plus one' colour is a scary RED!!! The Mummy was lightly coloured with Copics, then cut out and mounted on a home-made wobbler. I took a small piece of quite sturdy card and cut a narrow spiral from the edge to the middle then glued one end to the card and the other to the back of the Mummy. You have to make sure the card is hidden behind the image, and not make the spiral too narrow, but it works! Our spons...

Dream Valley DT Challenge #117 Halloween.

Image
Hiya, peeps! We have a new Challenge at Dream Valley which this week has a spooky Halloween theme! Our sponsor is Imagine That! . I used an adorable image from All Dressed Up, this is Boo! I can see you! isn't it gorgeous?! I wanted to keep the rest of the card simple, because the image is so delicate. I tell you, it took me half an hour to find suitable papers! Most Halloween papers that I have are very busy and overwhelming. Finally I found these papers in a pad by Studio Calico that came with a kit, I like the tiny geometric patterns! Trot across and see the inspiring Halloween creations that my teamies have made! They are lovely! Have a good week! love Mags B x

Dream Valley DT Challenge #93 Halloween

Image
Apologies, chaps, I had a dicky tummy yesterday and had an early night, so this post is a day late. Sorry! Our new challenge at Dream Valley is Halloween. The prize this fortnight is a little different than usual: A Twelve Days of Christmas 12 x 12 pad from Graphic 45; 3 reels of ribbon; and a bag of flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts. My card for this Challenge is a spooky scene suitable for a lady who likes horror films! The purple paper is from a Papermania Capsule collection, I think the pattern looks like a sinister stormy sky! The green is from stash, it was a bit dull so I stamped it with Memento Luxe Pear Tart pigment ink, and a background stamp by just Rite called Sweet Vines . It doesn't show in the photo, but there's a subtle sheen (and I'm rather proud of it!) The moon is a die-cut circle sponged with Squeezed Lemonade, Mustard Seed and Dried Marigold Distress Inks, then I spattered some water on top to give a mottled effect. The bats are from the sam...

My Time to Craft DT Challenge #258 Halloween

Edited to add: I'm so sorry, folks, I scheduled this post wrongly and sent it to Draft by mistake. Good morning, all, I hope you're having a great weekend! We had a brief visit from my son this week, on his way to see some of his friends; and then from my daughter, who is off to a baby shower today! Then tomorrow a young lady who I've known since she was 2 is getting married! It's lovely to see children growing up - but why does it have to happen so fast???!! Enough of this philosophising, it's time for another challenge at My Time to Craft and this week it's a spookily seasonal theme - Hallowe-e-e-e-n! Now, I don't actually 'do' Halloween trick or treating myself - I know several elderly ladies who lock their doors and switch off the lights because they're frightened of the 'tricks' that might be played on them. I also think that letting children go around knocking on strangers' doors asking for sweets isn't very safe: so ...

Dream Valley Challenges #68 Halloween

For my DT card for The Squirrel and the Fox please scroll down to the previous post. Thanks! This fortnight's challenge at Dream Valley is a seasonal one - Halloween! Our sponsor is Di's Digi Stamps (which was Di's Digi downloads but she has a new site.) I used one of her adorable images for my card, this is called 'All Aboard' and she's available from the 'Halloween' section of the website here I love the traditional orange and black colours used for Halloween and Autumn cards! I couldn't actually decide what paper to use for my background, so I dug out various papers from my snippets Box and glued them at an angle to a snippet of white card. The vertical piece looks white in the photo (my camera skillz are not the best!) but in real life it's a pale blue. I used nesties to die-cut the image, which is coloured with Promarkers, and the mat is done with a Lacey Circle Nestie, using pearlised black card from Paqpermania. The spiders are cu...

Dream Valley Challenge 43 DT

Image
Afternoon, all! I apologise for not being around much this week, I've had a dose of the 'flu. I know I'm poorly when I can't even read :( ! Enough of my woes, it's time for another challenge at Dream Valley ! Our lovely sponsors this time are One Stop Card Crafts with a £10 voucher, and Bugaboo with $21 to spend on their fantastic digis! This fortnight's theme is 'Hallowe'en.' Now, I don't really 'do' Hallowe'en, having problems with children being encouraged to knock on strangers' doors in the evening and demand sweets with menaces. I also know a lot of elderly ladies who sit in the dark all evening on October 31st because they're terrified of 'trick or treaters.'  Enough ranting! I'm happy to make a spooky card for my son's birthday in December, and here it is. The image is 'Zombieboy' by the superb Krista Smith of Saturated Canary . I used Promarkers to colour him. I put Rock Candy Stickl...

Haaaalloweeeeen! Dt card for Dream Valley Challenges.

Sorry I'm late with my DT post this fortnight! It was the Sunday School Open Day this morning, which involved lots of real coffee and cakes, and a fair bit of shifting furniture! Who needs the gym when you can weight-lift tables and chairs, eh? We had some gorgeous creations for the last Challenge - there are a lot of very talented crafters out there! This time the theme is 'Halloween' and we have the lovely Robyn's Fetish as our sponsor. There are 5 digital images up for grabs for one lucky person! I didn't use a digi image, since I've run out of black ink on my printer, instead I used 'Halloween Birgitte' by C C Designs. She came from Funky Kits . Isn't she sweet? I love the little spider! I made an oblong card, following the current sketch at Friday Sketch Challenge . The paper is Nitwits. The black fence is made with a Whiff of Joy die, and behind the flowers there's a Marianne swirl that's only just visible! The flowers are from stash,...
