My Time to Craft! #387 Something New

Image
Hello, my dearios! I hope you all had a lovely Christmas! My grandson (and his parents!) came over from Ireland and we all spent time in Shropshire with my granddaughter (and her parents!) It's very rare that we all manage to get together, since we all live far apart, so it was a very special treat! I am now at the slightly gloomy stage where everyone has gone home and it's time for a Grand Tidy Up! It's astonishing how much clutter is created when a very lively 2-year old boy is staying! Though I confess I did enjoy laying out train tracks all over the floor and playing with the train! Now I'm taking a break, with a cuppa, to tell you about the new Challenge at My Time to Craft. The very topical theme is 'New'. That can be New Home, New Job, New Baby, even New Stash! My nephew and neice are expecting a baby next month, so of course I went with 'New Baby.' We don't know if they're having a boy or a girl, so I went with lilac for the co

My Time to Craft #386 More Than One Fold - but not an easel!!

Image
Hello, my lovelies! I hope you're all keeping well and keeping on top of all the Chrimbo shenanigans! To take your mind off things we have a new Challenge at My Time to Craft! which is More Than One Fold But No Easels! I don't know about you, but an easel card is my default for more than one fold, so I was a bit anxious about this one. However, in the nick of time Jennifer McGuire posted a video on how to make a Double Z-fold card which fits the bill! This is the outside, which looks like an ordinary Z-fold, but when you open it..... I used a printed ready-made card base and stamped and embossed an old Hero Arts stamp across the internal section, masking areas for the sentiments. I coloured the flowers with Zig brush markers. The sentiments are stamped with gold Delicata ink. This was made for a birthday at the end of October, I am pleased to say that the recipient liked it! There is some gorgeous inspiration on the Challenge blog, go and see! Thanks for look

The Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge.

Image
Hello, everyone! We have come to our last Challenge for 2018 at The Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge. The next challenge will be on January 8th. I am busy making multiples of cards (I still haven't found the box where I carefully packed my Christmas cards and stored them 'somewhere safe' - fatal, I know!) This design is based on some old Christmas paper with vintage images of Santa. The paper is gorgeous, it's textured to feel like canvas and is by First Edition: it came in a mega-pack from Love From Lizi.   I cut the image and the gold mirri mat with stitched oval dies by My Favorite Things.  The sentiment was loose in my Christmas stash box, I think it was a magazine freebie. Wishing you a creative week! Thanks for looking. love Mags B x

Dream Valley #192 Christmas

Image
Hello! Today we have a new challenge at Dream Valley which is the last one of the year. And of course the theme is Christmas! We have several lovely sponsors this time, do check out the Challenge blog to see who they are as well as the lovely creations my teamies have made, using images kindly given to us by the sponsors. I have friends and family in Scotland, so when I saw this cute Highland Christmas image from Di's Digi Stamps I just had to make her into a card! I coloured her with Copics and added red Stickles to the holly berries and white glitter to the trim on her hat.  The papers are from my Christmas box and I matted them on antique gold paper using  scalloped dies.  The sentiment is embossed in gold using a Lawn Fawn Winter Scripty Saysings stamp. The star stickers are from stash. I hope you're all able to take some time to relax as the run-up to Christmas gets going! Thanks for looking, and have a great week! love Mags B x

My Time to Craft #385 CAS One Layer Only

Image
I'm so sorry I'm late with this post for My Time to Craft. It's been a frantic day - this morning we set up a room at the Church Hall for our Toddler Groups' Christmas Parties next week, with a special chair for Father Christmas (he visits every year, he is lovely!) and Christmas lights and a glowing Christmas Tree, which took ages to set up because there were no instructions! Then came lunch with a dear friend, and this evening there was Choir Practice. We are singing some beautiful songs this year! Anyway, I'm home now with a glass of white wine and a card to share for the new challenge, which is Clean And Simple with One Layer Only. 'One Layer' means putting your image directly onto your card front, though if you want to work on a separate panel the same size as the card base and glue it onto the base, that's ok. I have made..... A Christmas Card! What a surprise! The lovely flourish Christmas Tree stamp is an old one and I heat embossed

The Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge # 41

Image
Hello, my dearios! We have another challenge for you at The Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge where it's always Anything Christmas Goes! The most difficult cards to make at this time of year, I find, are not masculine ones but the totally non-religious ones! I don't mean for my Jewish or Muslim friends but those who are humanist or atheist. I don't know if my card today actually fits our theme, though it will accompany a present of hot chocolate and marshmallows at the end of the month - what do you think? This adorable image is Christmas in a Cup by Elisabeth Bell. A number of her stamps that were originally rubber are now available as digis. Instead of traditional greens and reds I used pink and mint, with Wink of Stella added to her sash and bow, and Stickles on the snowman on the cup. I used my corner chomper on the bottom two corners. I had several attempts before I got the image to print in the right place - I'm not very good at digi crafting! I th

Dream Valley #191 No Squares or rectangles!

Image
Hi, guys! I hope your weekend went well! Ye Olde Manne and I are engaged on a Grand Tidy-Up to get ready for family to come and stay at Christmas! And, no, mid-November isn't too early to start - there's an awful lot of STUFF in this house that needs to go!! However, there's always time to make a card or two! Our new theme at Dream Valley is to use No Squares or Rectangles! None at all!!!!! Our sponsor is Star Stampz and I have used the adorable Snowflake Fairy to make a winter birthday card. The card base is cut with a Spellbinders Labels Twenty Two die (annoyingly, it seems to be no longer available) and I drew around the inside of the die on some glittered snowflake paper from stash, and cut it out to give a narrow border. I had a co-ordinating gem set from Want2Scrap which adds a lot of sparkle! I added a ribbon bow and a snowflake charm from my stash, and glitter Nuvo Drops on the snowflakes around the cute girl. Do join in our Challenge, there is pl

My Time to Craft #384 Let It Snow.

Image
Morning, all! TGIF! Time for a new challenge at My Time to Craft! This fortnight our theme is Let It Snow so we'd like to see snow or snowflakes on your creation! I made a shaker card! I used some tiny snowflake stamps and white pigment ink to stamp on the blue cardbase and let them dry before assembling the shaker. The snowy background paper is an old digi from Lili of the Valley it's out of print now, but LOTV has some gorgeous paper pads on their site! The frame is from a scrap of holographic card. The sentiment is embossed with Simon Says Stamp Steel Blue powder. I love blue and white on Christmas and winter cards, it's so fresh! Look at my teamies' lovely variations on the theme, and have a go! I hope you're all looking forward to a relaxing weekend! Thanks for looking! love Mags B x

The Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge #40 Anything Christmas Goes.

Image
Good morning, all! It's a grey, overcast, drizzly day today in S-E Herts, very Novemberish! A good day to craft! Christmas is creeping closer - eek! - so it's a good thing that we have a new Challenge at The Holly and Ivy where it's always Anything Christmas Goes. While sorting my craft hovel (again) I found a pack of wooden Christmas embellishments from Hobbycraft on clearance last year which are great for fun cards! Aren't these Gingerbread Dudes cute? I added Glossy Accents to their top hats, bow ties and candycanes. I used a Simon Says Stamp Tri Square Craft Die to cut the 3 holes and added the wood shapes on top. The sentiment is also by Simon Says Stamp. Go and see my teamies' Christmas creations on the Challenge blog and be inspired! Thanks for looking, and I hope your week is going well! love Mags B x

Dream Valley #190 Dies and Punches

Image
Hi, guys! Do you have that 'Monday Morning' feeling? Check out our new Challenge at Dream Valley and you'll feel better! Our theme is to used Dies and Punches and our sponsor is the lovely Tracy at Dies to Die For. The background paper is a digi from Pink Petticoat (now relaunched as The Lovely Studio ) but sadly it's unavailable now. Do check out the shop, though, the colours are gorgeous! The flowers were made with Woodware punches and distressed with a Delicata Gold inkpad. I also distressed the edge of the background paper. The leaves were cut with an old Spellbinders' mistletoe die and for the sentiment I layered 3 pieces of white card and one of gold paper, all cut with the MFT Hello There die. Finally I added gold gems to the flower centres. Check out my teamies' creations and have a go! Thanks for looking, and have a good week. love Mags B x

My Time to Craft #383 Sketchy Time!

Image
Good morning, my lovelies! It's been a busy day so far, with a hospital appointment for my latest post-cancer checkup, and the good news is I'm still in remission! Now I can shake off the worry that always lingers before any hospital appointment and tell you all about the new challenge at My Time to Craft which is this fabulous sketch: While sorting my craft hovel yet again I came across some pre-coloured images from Lili of the Valley - sadly these don't seem to be available, but do check out their newer images, they are lovely! The papers are digis from Pink Petticoat - now back in business as The Lovely Studio. For the vertical lines I used ribbon from my stash, and I cut out the image and mat with dotted rectangle dies. The glittery snowflake was in my Christmas file, I often make several die-cuts at a time, file them carefully, then forget to use them!! Anyway, do go and see my teamies' inspiration on the blog, and give the sketch a go! Thanks for

The Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge #39 Anything Christmas Goes

Image
Hi, guys! I used an old Woodware stamp for this card and paper-pieced the ribbons using some christmas papers I had in my stash. The background paper is from an old Kaisercraft pad, it has glitter on it! I gold-embossed the sentiment on some vellum and wrapped it around the image, which is layered onto some pearlised blue card. I added gold gems on the ribbon knots, sparkle on the ribbons, and Glossy Accents on the star. Go and see my teamies' lovely creations, they will inspire you to make a Christmas card! Thanks for looking, and apologies for posting this a day late. love Mags B x

Dream Valley Challenges #189 Anything But a Card

Image
Hi, guys! I'm so sorry I'm a day late with this post, it's been a very busy few days. Our new Challenge at Dream Valley is Anything But A Card and our sponsor is the lovely All Dressed Up Stamps. Wendy kindly sent us some images to use, and when I saw this cute little girl reading I knew I had to make a pretty notebook! I removed the covers from a shop-bought notebook and covered them with paper, then used my Crop-A-Dile to re-punch the holes and thread the covers back onto the wire binding. I added some gorgeous pink ribbon and cut the letters with a Memory Box Classic Alphabet die set. My teamies have been very inventive, go and check out their creations! Thanks for looking! love Mags B x

My Time to Craft #382 Halloween or Cats.

Image
Hi, guys! I hope you're all having a good week! We have a new Challenge at My Time to Craft which is Halloween Or Cats. Halloween because it's mid-October and Cats because not everyone wants to make Halloween cards. As a rule I don't make Halloween cards, mainly because I have so few friends who'd like one, but this time I fell for an image from the Love from Lizi October crd kit. Too cute! Everything came from the kit, it's so much easier when everything is designed to co-ordinate! Otherwise I spend ages fossicking around for suitable papers! Prowl over to our Challenge blog site and be inspired by my teamies' creations! Thanks for looking and have a great weekend! love Mags B x

Two Retro Cards!

Image
Hi, guys! I'm just popping by to post a couple of cards made with the Love from Lizi October card kit. The first is a thank you card for my bro and sis-in-law, who we visited last Sunday. I CASEd a card made in this video from 2009 by Kristina Werner for Two Peas in a Bucket, a USA shop that has sadly closed down. The videos are still available, though! The papers, peel-offs and embossing folder is from the kit. The circle sentiment is an anciet one from Hero Arts and the ribbon is from stash. Here everything, except the sentiment, is from the kit. The papers have a lovely Retro feel, I think! Thanks for looking! love Mags B x

The Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge #38

Image
Good morning! I hope you are all having a good week! We have a new Challenge at The Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge but before I go any further I must apologise that my card isn't on the Challenge blog. I was so certain that I'd uploaded it that I forgot to check! D'oh!!! Anyway, as usual the Challenge is Anything Christmas Goes and here is my card. The sentiment and images came free with a magazine recently and have a very 'Scandi' feel so I went with red and white. The background paper is from stash and I added white Nuvo drops to the middle of the poinsettias. The embossing folder for the white strip came with the same magazine and I added gold peel-offs to trim the edges and match the gold embossing on the sentiment. I also used an MFT scalloped edge die along one side. Tonight I am joining my local Mothers' Union members to stitch felt stockings to be filled with little gifts for deprived children in the area, and I've been cross-stitchin

Dream Valley Challenges #188 Flowers

Image
Hi, guys! There is a new Challenge at Dream Valley today and the theme is Flowers. I'm a bit early today as the post on the blog isn't up yet, I hope you don't mind! Our fab sponsor is Sheepski Designs and Andrea very kindly provided some of her beautiful images for the DT to use. I chose the delicate and pretty Wild Roses digi and coloured in Promarkers, not Copics, because I knew that the Rose colours would match my papers. The papers are from my stash, I must have had them 8 years! The sentiment is from an old Penny Black stamp set and is gold-embossed. The lace came from our local market. I also added a gold peel-off from Love From Lizi and Nuvo Drops in Bubblegum Blush. I am so pleased with this card, it turned out just how I imagined it!!! Thanks for looking and have a great week! love Mags B x

My Time to Kraft #380 Use Kraft card

Image
Hi, guys! Our new Challenge at My Time To Kraft is touse Craft on your creation! (Do you see what I did there?!) I love the effect of white embossing on kraft, so I found a stamp with a solid image on it and got to work! The stamp is an old one from Chocolate Baroque, and the sentiment is from the same set. The background paper is from Bazzill Basics Kraft Foil paper pad and it's gorgeous, the stripes are in gold foil on a kraft background. The white ribbon and sequins are from stash. I managed to cut the paper a bit too shortfor the card base, but I trimmed the base down and I think it looks ok! Thanks for looking, and have a lovely weekend! love Mags B x

The Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge #37 Anything Christmas Goes.

Image
Hi, guys! I hope your week has started well and that it will get even better! In 3 months' time it will be Christmas Day - so let's get going with Christmas cards! There's a new Challenge at The Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge to encourage you! I have made 2 masculine cards, using items from a Love From Lizi card kit from last year. Both cards are made with cut-aparts featuring stags. I added gold peel-offs to the edges of the vertical paper on the first card, and a gold mirri die-cut greeting. The second has a gold mirri mat, a gold ribbon and dots of Nuvo Drops over dots on the image. I find masculine Christmas cards quite hard, but I'm pleased with these! Go and see what my talented teamies have created, and dig out your Christmas stash! Thanks for looking love Mags B x

Dream Valley Challenge #187 Pearls or Gems

Image
Good morning, my lovelies! I hope you're all keeping well. We have a new Challenge at Dream Valley - use Pearls or Gems. I may have gonne a bit over the top with the gems on my Christmas card! But can you have too much bling at Christmas? I don't think so! I used a Spellbinders 6 x 6 die for the background, the centre is in the shape of their Labels One and I used a Decorative Labels One die cut in patterned paper to cover it. Sadly, it seems that the Labels One dies are no longer available. The papers are from Dovecraft's The Magic of Christmas 6 x 6 pad. The background paper has wreaths on it, and I like how bits of the wreaths peep through the trellis. The sentiment is from Lil' Inkers All the Christmas You'll Ever Need stamp set (also, sadly, out of print.) I used 3 sizes of clear gems from stash, going from the largest in the middle to the tiniest at the edge. Go and see my teamies' gorgeous creations and join in the Challenge! Thanks fo

My Time to Craft #380 Food and Drink

Image
Hello, my dearios! It's been a very busy fortnight, we went on holiday to North Norfolk for a week then just had time to do a load of washing before we were off again to Dublin, to witness my daughter and her lovely young man get married in the registry office there. They had the party in May, this was just the paperwork - not the usual way to go about things, I know! Afterwards we had a delicious meal, and a stroll around Dublin's Fair City. It is such a beautiful place! Anyway, we're finally back to normal and there is a new Challenge at My Time to Craft which is Food and/orDrink. No, I haven't mistaken the day, the Challenge has moved from Saturday to Friday. I used items from the Simon Says Stamp card kit for February 2017. The stamp and sentiment come from Simon's Coffee and Tea stamp set and the paper is Doodlebug's Cream and Sugar 6 x 6 paper pad. The ribbon is from stash. My teamies have made some delicious cards to inspire you, go and se

My Time to Craft! #379 Under the Sea

Image
Hi, guys! I hope you're having a lovely weekend! Ye Olde Manne and I have just spent a week in Beautiful North Norfolk, visiting stately homes, riding on a train pulled by a steam engine, watching birds and reading. It was so restful! Now we're home again and the washing machine is working overtime. It's also time for a new Challenge at My Time to Craft! whose theme is Under the Sea. Before I go on, please note that the day for our Challenge is changing. From the next Challenge WE ARE CHANGING FROM FORTNIGHTLY SATURDAYS TO FORTNIGHTLY FRIDAYS. For my card I used an image from Pollycraft - which is now under the wing of Little Miss Muffet Stamps. Unfortunately this mermaid is no longer available, but do check out the adorable Chester the Monkey! I used blue and green papers from the snippets drawer and White Nuvo Drops. I went round the image with Evergreen Bough Distress Ink. The sentiment is made with a die from a Love from Lizi kit. Have a look at my

The Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge #35

Image
Hi, guys! It's time for another Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge! For a change I have made a pillow box, not a card! I used the Sizzix Pillow Box and Poinsettia die and snippets of paper from the scrap drawer. The poinsettia has gold glamour dust added to make it glitter, and the 'merry christmas' ribbon is from Hobbycraft. Go and see what my teamies have made and say hello to new DT member Marleen! Thanks for looking! love Mags B x

Dream Valley Challenge #185 Autumn Colours

Image
Good morning! Our new challenge at Dream Valley is to use Autumn Colours. Our sponsor is the fab Dies to Die For"> I used an old Lawn Fawn stamp to mask 3 sunflowers and a vase. It's a very versatile challenge this time - go and see my teamies' creations and be inspired! Thanks for looking and have a great week! love Mags B x

My Time to Craft #378 Christmas in August

Image
Good morning, lovely pals! There's a newChallenge at My Time to Craft and it's Christmas in August - a very good reason to get into that pesky Christmas card list before the rush in November! I have made a small card, 4.5 inches square, using a very cute Lawn Fawn Stamp called Winter Unicorn. It's very pink and girly! The paper is from an ancient magazine freebie. I coloured and cut out the unicorn and added Diamond Stickles to her mane and tail. I die-cut a Zig zag stitched circle by MFT and stamped the sentiment before adding the unicorn and 3 gold heartscut with a Simon Says Stamp die. The snowflakes are actually table confetti, bought in a post-Christmas sale! I added Bubblegum Blush Nuvo Drops to the centres. I also made a more general 'winter' card with Lawn Fawn's Winter Alpaca stamp. It's made the same way as the unicorn card, but is perhaps more suitable for a boy. Go and see what my teamies have made, then get out your Christma

The Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge #34 - and a DT Call!

Image
Hi, guys! Festive greetings - we have a new challenge at The Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge! As usual the theme is Anything Christmas Goes and it doesn't have to be a card! We also have a DT Call so hop over and check out the details! While sorting my stamp sets I came across this cute Merry and Bright set from Simon Says Stamp, which came in an old kit along with Doodlebug papers from the Here Comes Santa Claus paper pad. I used an MFT Stitched Scalloped Border Die for the snowbanks, with some icicle Stickles to add streaks of glitter. I used red Nuvo Drops for Rudolph's nose and the baubles on the tree. My teamies, as usual, have made gorgeous examples to inspire you! Thanks for looking and have a great day! love Mags B x

Dream Valley Challenges #184 Animals

Image
Good morning! Happy Monday, everyone, I hope this is the start of a good week for you! Our new challenge at Dream Valley is Animals. Our sponsor is Fabrika Fantasy and a lucky winner will be able to choose 3 of their digis! I went with the adorable Little Dragons (scroll down to find the image.) All the papers are from the Snippets drawer, which is now almost too full to shut properly! I took the colours for my dragons from the spotted paper, using mint green and purple to make a congratulations card on the birth of twins. Do fly over to Dream Valley to see what my teamies have made and be inspired to join in! Thanks for looking! love Mags B x

My Time to Craft #377 More Than One Fold

Image
Good morning, my lovelies! I hope you're all keeping well. We have a new Challenge at My Time to Craft which is to use More than one fold. I made a Diamond Top Card - the link is to Christina Griffith's very useful website. The papers are from stash. I masked and gold-embossed the flowers and leaves, and used Zig Real Brush markers to colour them, then used a Spellbinders Lacy Square die to cut them out. The gold-embossed sentiment is from an old Hero Arts stamp set. The diamond top fold is a bit tricky at first, but I practised on printer paper until I got it right! Go and see my teamies'lovely creations, and welcome the 4 new members of the DT! Thanks for looking and have a great weekend! love Mags B x

Roses, roses all the way!

Image
Hi, guys! On Saturday I posted an ATC for the latest challenge at My Time to Craft and I wondered what it would look like made into a bigger card. Here's the ATC: And now here's the card: Both are very pink!! The papers are the same and I used white seam binding on the card instead of ribbon upcycled from a blouse. I used a 2-part MFT Blueprints 18 die for the background, which is why the card is a mirror-image. As before, I fussy-cut the flowers and leaves and added them to give dimension. What do you think? Thanks for looking, and I hope you're having a great day. love Mags B x

The Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge #33

Image
Hi, guys! I hope your week is going well! We had rain again last night, woo-hoo! The garden smelt lovely and fresh this morning! To counteract the heat, it's time for our next challenge at The Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge We've had a glitch on our post on the blog, I'm afraid, but keep checking back! I added the Top Five to the first comment under the blogpost. Anyway, here's my Christmas card: The image is a very old C C Designs stamp called 'Stocking Boy.' I used papers from an old Kaisercraft pad, the background is glittered! Do join in our Challenge, you can make anything Christmassy, it doesn't have to be a card! Thanks for looking love Mags b x

Dream Valley Challenge #183 Christmas in July

Image
First of all, a massive apology to all followers of Dream Valley and our lovely DT! I forgot to add my card to the blogpost. What a plonker! Our theme is Christmas in July and our gorgeous sponsor is All Dressed Up Stamps. This sweet image is All Dressed Up for Christmas. The papers are Merry Little Christmas by First Edition, which is sadly out of print. The gold and green ribbon is from stash. I added sparkle to her wings and Nuvo Drops to the baubles on the tree. The sentiment came with a magazine, I like the pop of teal against the trad red and green! Thanks for looking and have a fab wee! love Mags B x

My Time to Craft #376 Artist Trading Card (ATC)

Image
Hiya! I hope everyone's having an enjoyable weekend! Today there's a new challenge at My Time to Craft and this fortnight we'd like to see Artist Trading Cards, or ATCs. These are little cards, 2 and a half inches by 3 and a half inches, which you decorate. Yes, like Pokemon or Yu-Gi-Oh trading cards, but prettier! I was inspired by a 6 x 6 pad of papers called The Peony Avenue by Studio 5 I cut 2 papers to size and sliced across them at an angle and reassembled them. I gold embossed the edges using Versamark and embossing powder. I fussy cut flowers and leaves from one of the papers. Then I went over the flowers with a sparkle pen. I also decorated the back It was very interesting working on such a small scale, and now I want to make a co-ordinating card to see if it will work when expanded! Do go and see my teamies' fab ATCs, they are so varied and original! Thanks for looking! love Mags B x

My Time to Craft #375 Wedding/Engagement/Anniversary

Image
Good afternoon, all! I hope you're having a good weekend. Our daughter and the Gorgeous Grandson are here - Oscar is very fast on his feet now, and quite tall, so I've been madly moving various ornaments to much higher shelves than I thought necessary this morning! How quickly we forget what small children can get up to! And how one cheeky grin can melt a doting grandma's heart! That's why I'm a few hours late with my DT post for My Time to Craft . Our theme is Weddings, Engagements or Anniversaries nice and romantic! I made a Z-fold card. Here is the front: Because the Dotty Card by Anna Marie Designs is printed on only one side I cut a piece that's 4.25 by 5.50 inches and a second piece that's 4.75 by 5.50 inches, then scored at 4.25, folded the flap, and glued it so the patterned sides were facing each other. Then I scored at 2 and an eighth inches down the front and folded it back. Does that make sense? Here is the inside: I used an ol

My Time to Craft #374 Sketchy Time!

Image
Hi, guys! I hope you're all well! We have had an exciting day - the new washing machine has been delivered! We really know how to live a glamorous life here at the Manor! Even more exciting is our new challenge at My Time to Craft! which is a lovely CAS sketch. So versatile! I used it to showcase a pretty paper from Modascrap which was included in the June kit by Simon Says Stamp. The gold card also came with the kit. I added Spectrum Noir sparkle pen to the swags on the balloon and the flowers, and some sequins from my stash. My teamies have made some gorgeous cards, go and see how one simple sketch can be interpreted in so many ways! Thanks for looking, and enjoy your weekend! love Mags B x

The Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge #32

Image
Good morning, all! Phew! It's already a scorching day here in S-E Herts, so it's a little odd to be posting Christmas cards for The Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge. Our challenges are always Anything Christmas Goes. I made 2 cards with decoupage sheets from Hunkydory that I've had for ages! I added silver mats and a silver-embossed sentiment. I used silicon gel to adhere all the layers together. I love this old-fashioned pillar box, it reminds me of one that stood outside my grandparents' house in Newcastle-upon-Tyne! Both images have touches of silver foiling - so pretty! My teamies have made some gorgeous cards to inspire you, go and see!! Thanks for looking and have a good day! love Mags B x

Dream Valley #182 All Things Bright and Beautiful

Image
Good morning, my lovelies! I hope you're all keeping well. I am a bit stiff and achey from going on a March in London on Saturday - it was an incredible day, but now I'm aware that I'm not as young as I was!!! On to our new Challenge at Dream Valley which is All Things Bright and Beautiful . And the Challenge runs until July 28th so there is plenty of time to enter! I used more supplies from a Love from Lizi kit. The paper has glossy leaves and is gorgeous! I cut the toucan from gold card and layered it on some white paper, and there is a 'nest' of shiny fine thread behind it. The butterflies show better irl, they were made with a Martha Stewart punch. Go and see the bright and beautiful creations my teamies have made! Thanks for looking, and have a great week! love Mags B x
