Dream Valley#264 More than One Fold

Image
Good morning! I hope you all had a good weekend. Ours was a wee bit breezy as 3 storms crossed the UK but everything seems calmer this morning. It's a good time to take a look at our new Challenge at Dream Valley which is to use More Than One Fold on your creation.  Our sponsor is Morgan's Art World and I used a cute image from the Garden 9 set.  I made a Gatefold card. I used pearlised papers from an old paper pad by First Edition.  The belly band is vellum, the ornate label is by Spellbinders, and the scalloped sentiment label came with a kit by Love from Lizi. Now for the inside: I did no-line colouring on the cute mushroom house using Copics.  The gold-embossed sentiment is also from an old Love from Lizi kit. I needed a 'New Home' card for a friend who is moving in March, so I was very pleased to use this sweet image! Take a look at what my teamies' have done, they have been very inventive with their card folds! Thanks for looking and have a good we...

Dream Valley Challenges #234 More than one fold.

Image
Mea culpa, mea culpa, mea maxima culpa! (My fault! My fault! Completely my fault!)  I missed posting for the new Challenge at Dream Valley. I'm so sorry!  We have a DT Call out now, do check out the details on the Challenge blog! You don't have to be an experienced crafter, so if you've ever wanted to try a DT, add your name on the Challenge blog!  We would like to see More Than One Fold on your cards this fortnight. Our sponsor is Hetty Clare Art and I have used one of the images sent to the DT. This is Flower Boot it is so sweet. I made a square gatefold card, and here is the inside: The papers are from a very old pad by Authentique which is long out-of-print, I'm afraid.  The ribbon is from my stash.  I also added dots of Nuvo Drops in the top right and bottom left corners, but unfortunately they don't show very well in the photo.  The sentiment is from an old Clearly Besotted stamp set. Go and see what my teamies have made, and check out the DT...

Pink Decoupage

Image
Good morning, all! I hope you're all looking forward to the long weekend! I wonder if we'll see any sunshine? It's time for a coffee break and a quick blogpost! Later today my daughter has another hospital appointment, but luckily the Olde Manne has the day off so we'll not be wasting hours waiting for the bus! How long we wait to be seen in the hospital is another matter, of course, but I don't mind that so much! Here is a gatefold card I made earlier this week when I was playing with a lovely Hunkydory kit that came with this month's 'Cardmaking and Papercraft' magazine: The image is from a die-cut decoupage sheet (it's so much easier than cutting round the fiddly edges of traditional decoupage images!) and I used Pinflair glue to layer the pieces. IRL there is pretty silver foiling, but the camera hasn't really picked it up. I used some pearlised pink card for the mat, which is cut with a Marianne doily die. The paper came with the k...

A Gatefold Get Well Card

Image
Good evening, all! I hope you've all seen at least a little bit of sunshine today! Hurry up, Spring, I'm well tired of being cold! This card is for a lovely blogging buddy, Mel . I wanted to something a bit different from usual, and decided on a Gatefold card. I used a scoring board which has grooves marked to show where the folds go - mine is quite old and was made by Kanban. It was so easy to make the base! The papers are by Nitwits, from the 'Grandma's Garden' set, I've had them printed out for ages, but only just got around to using them! The image is by Wild Rose Studios and was a freebie with a magazine, isn't it cute? I've lost my note of the Promarkers I've used :( - sorry! The flowers are made with another paper from the same Nitwits set and were cut with dies by Marianne in two sizes, and there are gems in the centre. The sentiment is by LotV on a Spellbinders label. The ribbon is from stash. Here's the card opened, I deco...

Catch the Bug Challenge - A New Fold

Image
Another of my hubby's colleagues is pregnant (it must be something in the water!) I certainly never expected to get so much use of this Bugaboo set! The current challenge at Catch the Bug is 'A New Fold' so I tried a gatecard fold. Here is the other side which shows the fun sentiment! And here's the inside with space for writing: Papers are Nitwits again. I cut out the mat using a Nestie, then measured across and down the die's cutting edges to get the rights size and shape for the image. Flowers are Wild Orchid, ribbon is Hobbycraft, leaves are a Woodware punch, and I stickled with Waterfall stickles. I also used Glossy Accents on her specs and shoes. Another pants picture - the card isn't that wonky, honest, guv! Thanks for looking luv, Mags x PS Sorry the pictures aren't very good, I had to take them in a hurry yesterday so hubby could give the card today! Promarkers: Putty, Dusky Pink, Pastel Pink; Cinnamon, Cocoa; Vanilla, Ivory, Powder Blue, Sky Blu...
