Dream Valley Challenges #68 Halloween

For my DT card for The Squirrel and the Fox please scroll down to the previous post. Thanks!

This fortnight's challenge at Dream Valley is a seasonal one - Halloween! Our sponsor is Di's Digi Stamps (which was Di's Digi downloads but she has a new site.) I used one of her adorable images for my card, this is called 'All Aboard' and she's available from the 'Halloween' section of the website here

I love the traditional orange and black colours used for Halloween and Autumn cards! I couldn't actually decide what paper to use for my background, so I dug out various papers from my snippets Box and glued them at an angle to a snippet of white card. The vertical piece looks white in the photo (my camera skillz are not the best!) but in real life it's a pale blue.

I used nesties to die-cut the image, which is coloured with Promarkers, and the mat is done with a Lacey Circle Nestie, using pearlised black card from Paqpermania. The spiders are cut with a Die-namics die from their 'Spiderweb' set. The sentiment uses memory Box alphabet dies - I was going to cut 'Happy Halloween!' but in the end went for the name of the digi image instead. The ribbon is from Hobbycraft.

I'm really enjoying my die-cutting recently - you may have noticed!!

Do hop onto your broomsticks and fly across to Dream Valley to see the gorgeous creations my teamies have made, you'll be dead impressed!! Then you can join in with your own spooky creations - remember, it doesn't have to be a card, or even made of paper! A carved pumpkin would go down a treat lol!!

Thanks for looking!

love Mags B x

Promarkers: Cool Grey 5, 4, 3, 1; Raw Sienna, Mustard, Buttercup; Coral, Sunkissed Pink, Blush, Baby Pink; Spice, Mandarin, Bright Orange; Cocoa (just a bit along the broomhandle)

This is gorgeous Mags. She is a real sweetie. Little kitty looks like he is having fun with the spider.
Thank you for volunteering with commenting Mags but I should be fine. Will let you know if life throws any more curve balls my way!!!
Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Mags, your Halloween card is just adorable!! I don't like them to be too spooky, so I'm delighted with your card!

And what a stunning way to use up those snippets! You should edit your post and link your card over to Pixie's Crafty Snippets Workshop to show all the playmates!!

How is Sacha doing? I continue to keep her in my thoughts. It won't be long until Christmas and her treatments will be over!

Hugs, Darnell

Hi Mags

I hope you are OK.

I have been having a lovely catch up on your blog

Lots of lovely makes but I can't leave without commenting on the picture you took of your Dad. How lovely to see so many generations happy to be together.

I had a happy little smile looking at all the photographs in the background representing everything your Dad holds dear in his heart. Photographs mean so much and now days we just leave them on a computer which eventually dies taking our precious memories with it (unless we have been sensible and backed them up of course!!)

Have a lovely weekend.

Love Jules xx

I like the idea of using snippets of all the orange papers up on the background. No two cards would come out the same. I used to love doing jigsaw and had really gone down the charity shop to get a young childs one (big pieces only 4or 5 per picture but they only had 500 or 1000 piece boxes and the one I chose looked the easiest!!!
