Penny Black butterflies
Firstly, welcome to my new followers! Glad you could make it - take a pew, I'll put the kettle on!
Evening, all! I hope you all had a good weekend, and that that Monday morning feeling hasn't been too bad.
This is a larger card than I usually make, because it's for one of our ladies at the Toddler Group, so there will be a lot of signatures on it! The lady has brought her 3 grandchildren to us over the last 3 years, and the youngest goes to nursery school in September so we'll sadly be saying goodbye.
The papers are ancient, they are from the days when Lakeland did craft materials as well as kitchen and homeware. The pink gingham ribbon, which hides the join between the two papers, is from stash, and so are the Papermania gem brads in the middle of the chrysanthemums (of which more anon!)
The pretty butterfly is a Penny Black, I picked it up at the very first craft show I went to, nearly 3 years ago! I cut the mats with a Nestabilities die, using a patterned green-and-aqua paper which was in the snippets box along with the Lakeland ones (I think the card was Tilda, but don't quote me.) There are stickles on the dots on the butterflies' wings.
Now for the flowers, which are from a video by Jak Heath which is on youtube here I hope. (If the link doesn't work, it's on the tutorial section of her blog.) Jak uses a special tool, or you can use a teaspoon, she says, but I used the blunt end of a knitting needle.
Now you're all consumed with curiosity, aren't you?
I'm entering the Challenge over at Penny Black Saturday Challenge where the theme is 'Five Circles'
Since I've used up quite a lot of snippets (the chrysanth is good for that!) I'm also going to hop along to the Playground and http://pixiescraftyworkshop.blogspot.co.uk/2012/06/pixies-crafty-snippets-challenge-25.html. At Primary School when it was a 'Wellies Day' we used to compete to see who could splash the puddles the most...
Thanks for looking and have a good evening!
