An LotV Thank you for our Mother's Union rep!

Yesterday, Hoddesdon Parish Church's Mothers Union went to see the Great Bed of Ware IN WARE! The Victoria and Albert Museum has lent the beautifully refurbished Bed to the Ware Museum until next April. DO go and see it if you can, it's wonderful, and so is the museum.

I made a Thank you card for the lady who organised the trip:

I could not resist the new LotV bears. Yep, the family will be dining on lovely cheap 'Mum's overspent on crafty stuff again' soup and home-made bread for the next week once again! It's lucky they like it!

This is a small card (5" square) so I made it quite simple. The papers are snippets of K & Co from my snippets box, so I don't know their official names, and the brown matting card is also a snippet.

I coloured with Promarkers and added Glossy Accents to the hearts and the bear's nose and also to the LotV sentiment banner. I popped the image and the sentiment on foam pads to give a touch of dimension. The insects' wings have touches of stickles on them (Orange and Icicle.)

I used Square and Looped Nesties to die-cut the image and its mat. The ribbon (Hobbycraft) and flowers (Prima) are from stash, and so are the flower brads. The leaves are cut from yet another snippet using a leaf die from a Spellbinders Rose Creations Dies set: I roughly embossed veins on the leaves and then went over the lines with green stickles.

Once again my naff camera Skillz mean that the glimmer and shine aren't very clear :(

I'm entering the Papertake Weekly Challenge which is 'Anything Goes' with an option of highlighting a part of your creation with 3D or Stickles or Glossy Accents - or all of them! (I used foam pads to 3D the image, Stickles, and Glossy Accents)

I'm also entering the lovely Di's Snippet Challenge. I'll be digging in the Playground's Garden Plot this week, planting Sunflower seeds! I remember digging in the garden at Primary School and planting carrots. I don't remember any of them growing well enough to be eaten!

I hope you're all having a good week - the weekend is getting nearer! Also, as a friend says, 'Keep smiling! You know it annoys them!!'

Thanks for looking!

love Mags B x

Promarkers: Gold, Sunflower, Tulip Yellow; Cocoa, Henna, Walnut; Grass, Leaf Green, Forest Green; Honeycomb, Oatmeal, Vanilla, Baby Pink; Bright Orange; Terracotta, Chestnut, Tan, Cardinal Red

Hi Mags

This is such a gorgeous card - beautifully coloured and I love the design so much.

Thank you for your lovely comments about the playground - makes it all worthwhile :)

Isn't the Great Bed of Ware amazing - I saw it a year or two ago at the V & A. Absolutely huge!

Bed is calling me - 'night!

Love the gingham bow with the lovely sunflower.. I have that rose die too and the leaves look very realistic. Planted sunflowers as well but with all the rain they have grown too quickly and gone all spindly. They are blaming the Gulf Stream for all this rotten weather we are having at the moment. See you in the playground later for a natter. Hugs Mrs A.
