Dream ValleyDT Challenge 62 Summer Days

Good afternoon, my lovelies!

(Please scroll down for my DT post for The Squirrel and the Fox)

It's Dream Valley Challenges time again! Our new Challenge is Summer Days - now, how many of you are humming the song from 'Grease'?

Our sponsor is the wonderful and witty Bugaboo Stamps - I love Bugaboo! I have had Sunbonnet Sue Strawberry Basket and Sunbonnet Sue Strawberry Jam in my files for a while now, and this challenge was ideal to print them out! In fact, there's a whole section on the Bugaboo site devoted to 'Sunbonnets' and they aren't all cute little girls!

I used Spectrum Noir pens this time (the list is below) and I Glossy Accented the strawberries. I used a Spellbinders Wonky Rectangle die to cut out the image, and drew around the edge of the die on my green card and cut it out to make the narrow mat. The papers are by Raspberry Road and came free with a magazine.

(Honestly, I have so many of these freebie pads, I really must get a move on and use them up! But they are so pretty, how can I cut them???)

I used a Martha Stewart PATP punch for the border, and a Tonic Studios Retro flower punch for the strawberry flowers, which I edged with Tattered Rose Distress Ink and which have pearl flowers from my stash as centres. Underneath the flowers is a pale green Marianne swirl die-cut.

The sentiment is from the 'Messages' clear set by Hero Arts, stamped in Mowed Lawn Distress Ink and with 2 little gold pearls from The Hobby House. The gingham ribbon is from Hobbycraft.

The fabulous sketch is from this month's The Cupboard Trilogy Challenge

Here is the inside...

... using more papers from the same pad, and a smaller Strawberry Jam image. This time the jam jar has been Glossy Accented.

Go and see the wonderful creations that my Dream Valley teamies have made, you will be very impressed and full of enthusiasm to join in! Dig out your most summery images and papers and have a go!

"Summer Days, drifting away to oh, oh, those Summer Nights!"

Thanks for looking!

love Mags B x
