Back in the groove!

Warning: this is a picture-heavy post, so get yourself a cuppa and a biccie!

I'm entering this week's Less is More challenge, which is to use a ribbon or button.

That's better! I had withdrawal symptoms because I haven't made a card in about 10 days! I also haven't played along with Jules's Snippets challenge for far too long, when she challenges us to use up those snippets of leftover paper in our stashes! Three of these cards qualify, but for the last one I cut into a pristine sheet of paper.

Okiedokie, I'll keep this short'n'sweet! The patchwork squares were punched using scraps of Pink Petticoat papers, and the pink flowers are Papermania Honey and Hugs, I think. There are purple gems in the middles of the flowers. Sentiment is Penny Black, on a die-cut Nestie, and the gorgeous ribbon is recycled from a cardigan!

I used a smaller punch on this one, and doodled lines around them to look like patchwork. There are 4 small butterflies, though they don't show well in the piccie, with blobs of Liquid Pearls on the bodies. Papers are K and Co, ribbon is from Dovecraft.

Unfortunately these last two are sympathy cards, since my neighbour's grandmother has died aged 95. The images are Penny Black, paper pieced with Papermania capsule collection in Heather and Aqua, and the sentiment is also PB. Ribbon is recycled, too.

I love these sketchy Penny Black images, so versatile!

I'm off on me travels again tomorrow, this time just to Shrewsbury to stay with The Lad and his Missus for a couple of nights. It's all go (or should that be going away?) at the Manor. Be good when I'm away!

Thanks for looking!

luv, Mags x

Hi Mags

Welcome home .. .. even if it is only for a little while!!

Loving your snippet creations. Each one is beautiful. I particularly love the squares as your snippets are so gorgeous!!

Shame you needed to make sympathy cards .. .. but you did a lovely job with them. Those PB images are just perfect for paper piecing.

Lovely to see you back in the playground again using up your snippets.

Have a good few days away .. .. you must be ready for a break LOL!!!

Love Jules xx

Hi Mags. Thank you for your lovely comment about my snippet organisation. Your snippet cards are gorgeous (well all of them are!) I love cards with different squares arranged on them and these are a perfect combination of papers. Might have to try this with my snippets too. The sympathy cards are stunning but (I really hope you won't be offended by me saying this) I would tend to leave the exclamation mark off the sentiment for a sympathy card. Have a good week Mags! Vx
