The Rover Returns!

Good morning! I'm so sorry I've been MIA recently, my baby girl had her first chemo session last week which rather knocked the stuffing out of her, but luckily by her birthday on Sunday she was feeling much better. I call her my baby girl, but she's just turned 27! It doesn't seem possible!

I have been crafting, I just haven't had time to blog! So today I have abandoned the washing-up in favour of writing this post, and I have 2 cards to share.

First is my daughter's birthday card. The technique comes from This video tutorial by Christina Griffiths. To make the base I used a Spellbinders die and pearlised cardstock from Craft Creations. I used all the dies in the set, alternting blue and white card, and distressed the white pieces while in the die with Broken China Distress Ink.

The sentiment from LotV is stamped in the same ink. I added a white organza double bow, and pearls in the corners. The most difficult aspect was getting the card out of the dies - I rubbed over each die with one of those tumble-dryer fragranced towel-thingys (can't for the life of me remember the proper name!) which makes it all a lot easier.

Sadly, I also had to make a card for a very dear friend whose husband died suddenly last week.

The image is by Stampendous, and I stamped it with a blue Kaleidocolor multi-coloured pad. I matted onto silver paper and then onto a scrap of paper from the snippets box.

I hope you are all well, I intend to have a lovely evening visiting your blogs!

Thanks for looking, and also for all your kind comments, they make such a difference!

Belated birthday wishes to your daughter. Bet she loved her card as it is stunning. Hope she copes with future hospital visits a bit easier. I know many ladies who have had to endure chemo and I know it can be very cruel. But sure with all the love your family have for each other she will come out the other side smiling. Look after yourself too tho Mags x

I'm glad to see you put up a post, Mags, as I have been wondering how Sacha is doing with her chemo. Happy Belated Birthday to her!! The card you made is a stunning work of art! I'm bedazzled by it!

And the card for your friend is going in my bookmarked faves. It is just perfect and tender and holds just the right tone for a sympathy card. I'm sorry for her loss.

Keep in touch! xxoo Darnell
