For my baby bro

My brother was 55 today! here's the card I made for him. He is red-green colour blind, so I used yellow and blue to make a strong contrast on the image.

The stamp was given to my daughter when she worked at Waterstone's Bookshop by a lovely lady who used to come in and chat about crafting. This old Kadoodles stamp was one that she no longer wanted, and it's perfect for my brother, so I borrowed it!

The papers are from stash, I've had them for ages!! I used promarkers to colour the lad and his dog, and used a Spellbinders Deckle Rectangle (one of the first I ever bought! If only I'd known then how my die-addiction would grow!!) to cut him out. The very shiny stickers are from Paperchase. Alas, they seem to have been discontinued, they are brilliant for male cards! The indigo twine was also borrowed from my daughter! The sentiment is by LotV.

You might say that this card is a joint effort between my daughter and me!!

Thanks for looking!

I'm entering the following Challenges:

Clear It Out Challenge - Something for the Boys + die-cut: I used an old Spellbinders Deckled Rectangles die.

Oldie But a Goodie Challenge - use Dies or punches: The Spellbinders die, which is over 3 years old, and the papers, which are at least 6 months old!

Glitter n Sparkle Challenge want Male Cards and also have a DT Call.

Just popped back to say that I think I was really close to you when I was in England. I spent 5 days in Hemel Hempstead with my cousin. We drove out each day to sightsee at various places we had been to on previous trips.
I just noticed that you mention Hoddesdon on your header and I think that is only 20 miles away from her place!!!
What a small world we live in!!!

Thanks for the info on the deckle edged die. I have a bid going on it at the moment so hope I can get it for snip. Your card is lovely and even though the colours are specific for your Brother they look great together. Hugs Mrs A.

Wonderful brother card & enjoyed reading the background story too. Great use of your deckled S/B. That die stuff can grow into a nightmare addiction, can't it? I'm guilty of that...when they come out with the new ones, I always think of 'what cards I can make with _that one_', Then it goes into my collection and sometimes gathers dust, as I have favs that I gravitate to. TFS such a delightful masculine card. I'm sure he loved it. Hugs
