DT card for Dream Valley Challenge 36 Summer
Good morning, all!
By the time you read this (if kind Mr Blogger schedules the post) I will be away camping at a Christian Conference called New Wine, in Somerset. The conference is a first for me, though camping in mud isn't, my family used to go camping every year. My hubby, who's staying at home, predicts trench foot, rust, mud baths...
Enough of that! It's time for a new Challenge at Dream Valley and this time the theme is Summer
We are being sponsored by Squiggle Stamps and the DT were offered some of their lovely digistamps to play with. I chose Geeky Goth Boy isn't he cute?
The bright summery papers are "Sunshine" from the "Little Miss Collection" by Pebbles Inc, I can't remember where I got them, sorry! I used both sides of the double-sided paper, and added an Owls scrap from the Snippets Box. I reversed the main papers for the inside:
The Geek is coloured with Speccies. I Glossy Accented his specs and Gothy chain. The Distressing is done using Salty Ocean ink, and I distressed while the image was still in the Nestie Die to give the white border. I also coloured the LotV tags with the same ink, and Glossy Accented them.
I used a MS border punch on the horizontal strip, and wound Bakers Twine from The Ribbon Girl. The tree came in a chipboard pack from The Works, I sponged Shabby Shutters, Mown Lawn, Frayed Burlap and Vintage Photo DIs on it, then went over with Glossy Accents - I didn't have the patience to let the ink dry first, so it's gone blotchy, but actually I rather like the effect!
I confess, I like this card, it tells the story of a Birdwatching Geek going out on a summer day with his guide books, but in fact all the birds are behind him and he hasn't spotted them yet! At least, that's what usually happens when hubby and I birdwatch!!
Do go across and see my teamies' sunny summery creations! Remember it doesn't have to be a card, make something bright and summery and cheerful to counteract all this horrible rain!
Take care, and thanks for looking!
love Mags B x
