Hi, guys, I'm back!
Well, I have just spent an amazing week at New Wine, a Christian Conference held at Shepton Mallet in Somerset. The weather was glorious, though just 3 days before we got there the campsite was inundated! In fact, I came back with a tan!
Now that I'm home I see I have some new followers - Welcome! I hope you enjoy this madcap corner of blogland! Let me put the kettle on.
One of the lovely ladies I travelled with is moving tomorrow, which obviously calls for a card. I will get to the one I made today anon, because I want to show you a card I don't like!
You see, I saw on Kim Reygate's Blog that the challenge at Our Creative Corner is to show one of your cards that you don't like and give it a 'makeover.' That actually inspired me to have a go at some self-improvement!
This was going to be sent to my sister when she moved earlier this year. Now, the photo isn't so bad, but irl the colours just shriek at each other! The colouring of the image is blotchy, too, and the layout is unbalanced, there's too much space on the right. I only like the ribbon and the flower and the stamp!
So here is the new version:
I've kept the flower and ribbon ideas, and the paper is very bright and sunny but a better size of design for a smallish card, toned down with greeny-blue mats. I prefer this one!
I used a Polkadoodles stamp that came free with 'Papercraft Essentials' magazine some time last year of this neat little house with hearts and a wiggly chimney stack, coloured with Speccies. The berries on the topiary have been stickled. I used a Nestie (Lacey Square) to cut it out and frame it at the same time.
The papers are also from a magazine last year, they are by Kate Knight, I do like her designs! The 6 little stars and the pearl brad are by Papermania and I've had them forever. The blossoms from stash have been sprayed with Old Lace Glimmer Mist.
Whaddaya think, chums?
I'm entering Our Creative Corner Challenge oops, no I'm not, I've missed the boat! Curses! Foiled again!
and also Sweet Sketch Wednesday whose awesome sketch I used.
Gosh, this is a lengthy post! Thanks for sticking with me, and thanks for looking!
