Lili of the Valley Anything But a Card

Welcome to my new followers! Thank you for investigating this slightly eclectic corner of Blogland!

Evening, all! I hope your weekend is going well! Apparently in the UK we are to be blessed with wind and rain this weekend - perfect crafting weather, methinks!

My daughter is collecting items for a 'care box' for a friend who hasn't been well, and so I made this for her to fill. Sacha (my daughter) makes very thoughtful care boxxes, they usually contain a book and some nice bath things! Though once she made one for me that included very unromantic knickers and socks!!!

I upcycled a tissue box, covering it inside and out with papers from the LotV/Nitwits 'Perfect Pair' paper stack.

The image is Summer Lovely Lilies and I coloured her with Promarkers - how useful the narrow nibs are for detailed images! The list of Promarkers is below. I used a scalloped oval Nestie to cut her out, and lightly distressed through the die with Worn Lipstick Distress Ink.

An Arty shot:

Here's another side view, showing part of a bow made with baker's twine from stash, and a handmade lily punched with a Tonic Studios set.

I used some holographic card for the middle of the lily, but otherwise there's no bling, it didn't seem right. The gingham tape that is along the edges was a freebie from a magazine. I'm rather pleased with this - I know the recipient very well, and I think she'll like it!

Challenges I'm entering:

Lili's Little Fairies Anything but a Card

Thanks for looking, guys, and have a great weekend!

love Mags B x

Promarkers: Walnut, Cocoa, Sandstone; Antique Pink, Cocktail Pink, Baby Pink; Coral, Sunkissed Pink, Blush, Baby Pink; Ice Grey 2 + Blender (on the dress); Holly, Forest Green, Bright Green, Leaf Green, Sunflower; Ice Grey 1

Love the box you made and this is just perfect for the current LOTV challenge.

When are you coming to play in the Playground then? C'mon, dig out your snippets. There's a lovely bunch of charms and cord, donated by Jules, to be won this week!

Hi Mags, firstly apologies for being such a bad blogger and abandoning you for ages - hopefully I'll be getting around blog world more regularly now.

Love the altered box - it's just gorgeous and that image is soooo sweet! It's lovely idea and I'm sure the recipient will really appreciate it.

Cheerio for now,
Sarah

PS - ~Thanks for the lovely comment you left on my blog when my daughter was having school problems. Thankfully they've sorted it all out now, and she is back to her normal happy (well mostly happy!!) self.
