Hello

Evening, all! As promised, here's another card, which has reached its recipient! I had been watching a lot of videos by Kristina Werner who uses a CAS style, when I made this card, so I went for a CAS look. I love watching videos on Youtube while doing the dreaded ironing!

The background is stamped with a Hero Arts/Basic Grey Wood Background cling stamp. I cut it a bit narrower than the card base, which is blue Centura Pearl, and added 3 snippets cut into strip and the ends vandyked.

Then I die-cut a circle and added the owl. He's from a Paper Smooches set called Spookalicious The shop I link to, Make the Day Special, has stamps from various American firms that aren't readily available over here. Worth a look, and their service is great - ordered on Monday, here in my hot little hands on Wednesday!!!

I used Promarkers to colour in the little fella (and didn't write them down, what a numpty!) then cut him out with a smaller circle die and glued him onto the blue base card. I added the top layer with foam pads.

I can't recall where the sentiment is from, but it's a clear stamp that I curved into shape before picking it up with my acrylic block and stamping as usual.

it's always quite challenging to do something out of the old comfort zone, but it's a great feeling when the card works! *is pleased*

Ok, time to get back to another tranche of Chrimbo cards, it's like being on an assembly line sometimes! Next year I WILL make my Christmas cards throughout the year! (Wanna bet, hm?)

I hope you're all having a good week - the weekend is just round the corner!

Thanks for looking

Challenges: Pixies Snippets Playground - three snippets of patterned paper, and the background was stamped on a snippet of white Rymans!

LOVE this Mags, super cute image, a lovely design and how very clever to curve the sentiment! I never think to do that, mind you - long straight ones often end up looking like a rollercoaster :)

Hi Mags, I'm behind on visitin' as well, Life gets in the way, and I hope all our blog buddies understand. Especially this time of the year. We get round as we can...blogs not forgotten though. I enjoyed this festive little owl, and I never write down my colors either. It's usually not a planned thing..I just test swatches, and go with what looks good to my eye. This is a cute image, and so well colored. I liked the way left the side bits of your card base showing. Nice touch, and Kristina does lovely cards. Loved the woodgraining with your owl- it was a perfect backdrop for this little critter.
TFS, Hugs & Merry Christmas
