My Time to Craft DT Challenge #274 Stripes

Good morning! I hope you're all having a good weekend and that you're staying safe and warm if your weather is bad. I have been doing my traditional January tasks - clearing out all the out-of-date food that gathers in my kitchen and fridge/freezer! I'll have to do a Big Shop to replenish supplies!!!

It was a nice change to make this card!

Our Challenge this week is Stripes. You can use stripy papers, or stamp your stripes on your card, which is what I did. I used a stamp from Be Joyful by Simon Says Stamp, and shades of pigment inks by Mama Elephant in an ombre pattern.

I cut my base paper with a frame die, also from Mama Elephant and after stamping cut a circle with a Spellbinders Die. The flower is from the Best Mom Ever stamp set, also by Simon Says Stamp. I stamped in black Versafine and clear-embossed, then watercoloured with Worn Lipstick Distress Marker. I added it behind the cut out with foam tape and used more foam tape to stick it onto my card base.

The sentiment is from the Penny Black T for Transparet Sentiment set. Finally I added a few sequins.

If any of you follow Kristina Werner you will recognise the card that inspired me!

Go and be inspired by the lovely examples at My Time to Craft and join in the fun!

Thanks for looking!

Hi Mags, Saw your link at another blog, and reminded me to pop in to wish you a very Happy 2015. I smiled when I read your New Year's chores. Add to yours, making up new file folders for the year's business, and I'm right there with you. I love your card, and the pops of color with the chevron striping really pulls the eye right in to your lovely flower. What a happy feeling to this lovely birthday card. Hope that your Christmas went just as you would wish to. TFS & Hugs too.
