My Time to Craft DT Challenge #299 Paper Piecing!

Happy Independence Day to all my friends and family in the USA!

Good morning, all! We had an amazing thunderstorm last night, bright sheet lightning lighting up the clouds and an absolute cascade of rain! The air feels so much fresher today!

Now for the new Challenge at My Time to Craft which is Paper Piecing. (The link leads to a tutorial on Splitcoast Stampers.)

Woodware have produced some great 'patchwork' stamps that are ideal for this. Here's the elephant:

I used papers from the Snippets drawer to piece her.

The background is made with a MFT Die-namics Sun-ray die, I cut it from pink card and patterned paper, glued the card to the front of my card, and filled in the gaps with paper - it seemed like a good idea at the time, but now I'm not so sure. However, half the fun of cardmaking is EXPERIMENTING to see what works and what doesn't! ;)

The banner is Paper Smooches, the sentiment I think came from a magazine a long time ago!

Do go and see the clever creations that my teamies have made, they are gorgeous, much more sophisticated than mine!! Then give paper piecing a go, it's like making a patchwork quilt but oh so much quicker!

Have a great day - those of you in S E Hertfordshire, beware: my hubby is cleaning the car, which usually means rain is in the offing lol!

Thanks for looking!

Oh this is s a cutie, and what a perfect new baby card. At first I thought you had paper pieced (it looks like a lovely quilt!) but then read that you had used this cute image with patterned paper. It's just lovely. Also liking the way you've done the inlay - which again looks very quilt like (can you tell I was a quilter in a former hobby?). It's quite a wonderful card, and your experimenting paid off BIG time. Hope all has been well with you. Glad that the tstorms cleared the air - I've been reading on some of the UK blogs about your heat. TFS & Hugs
