Dream Valley Challenge 52 - Mother's Day
Good afternoon, all! If you're looking for my DT card for The Squirrel and the Fox please scroll down to the previous post.
The Challenge at Dream Valley is to make something for a Mum, as it's Mothering Sunday here in the UK. Our lovely sponsor is Freckled Fawn who are offering a very generous $20 voucher to their online store! Their range of washi tape has to be seen to be believed!!
Since every country celebrates mothers at different times of the year, feel free to create something for a lady, instead!
It was International Women's Day last week - what I want to know is, why can't it be International Women's Day every day? After all, we ladies are awesome all the time, not just once a year!
I'll get off my soapbox and talk about my card!
Now, I have to say straight off that this is the first Centre Step Fold card that I've made and it's a bit wobbly. The template I used has long cuts down the back as well as the front; next time I make one I'll do the cuts differently. Here's a side view, you can just about see that the rearmost side has a cut going to an inch from the bottom:
Anyway, I did enjoy making it, learning something new is always a Good Thing!
The image is a lovely Sarah Kay stamp that I've had for about 4 years - she was one of the first stamps I bought! I used Promarkers to colour her, (eta: I can't find the list, apologies!) and loads of stickles over the flower heads. I distressed the edges in-the-die with Shabby Shutters DI. The paper is also old, from the first paper stack I ever bought, by DCWV. The ribbon was a freebie, and the sentiment is by LotV.
Voila!
I hope you'll go across to Dream Valley to look at my teamies' amazing work. Remember, the Challenge isn't just for cards!
Thanks for looking, my lovelies, and have a great week!

Such a pretty stamp (I've got her as well) and so well coloured - love your colour choices as well.
You should've seen my first attempt at a step card - it went straight in the bin!!!!
Hope you have a good weekend,
Sarah
