My Time to Craft Christmas #33 Fireplace theme and/or stockings.

Image
Morning, all! Welcome to another Challenge at My Time to Craft Christmas.   I have chosen to make 2 cards with Stockings, since I don't have anything for a Christmas fireplace!   My first card uses one of the adorable Elves from MFT's Santa's Elves stamp set. The background paper is a snippet from my stash - it also has stockings on it! The sentiment came with the stamp set.   My second card uses a Penny Black image from the Wonder stamp set. I love these cute mice! The paper and sentiment are also from the Snippets drawer.   Check out the blog for some more inspiration!   Thanks for looking and take care.   love Mags B x

My Time to Craft #480 Fences, hedges, walls or other outdoor property markings.

Image
Hiya! We have a challenging Challenge at My Time to Craft but it's actually easier than it sounds! Think of how your garden is marked out - maybe it's a trellis supporting climbing plants, or a stone wall or a fence or a hedge or maybe there's an arch shading the path to your front door.  Or maybe there's a field nearby full of horses or cows that's surrounded by a wood or wire fence.  Any of those can be inspirational, whether for a scene with animals or a row of flowers. I admit, it took me a lot of thought, but I have one stamp that shows a fence and one die that cuts one.  The first card is naturalistic, using a Penny Black stamp of a winter scene. I used a Kaleidoscope ink pad in various shades of blue which is darker at one end and lighter at the other.  Blending inks directly on the stamp would give the same effect.  You can just see the line of the fence between the groups of trees.  The sentiment is by Taylored Expressions. The second card is more like a

The Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge #114 Anything Christmas Goes.

Hi there! Welcome to The Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge where it's always Anything Christmas Goes. My card is quite simple this week, using inlay die-cuts and some gold embossing. I used the Collage Cover Up Die from My Favorite Things and some gorgeous paper from yet another old First Edition paper pad. The white card has a linen texture. The sentiment is an old one from Clearly Besotted.  Check out the inspiration on the blog and join our challenge! It's never too soon to start on your Christmas cards!  Thanks for looking!  Mags B x

Dream Valley #268 Add Embellishments

Image
Hi, guys! Happy Monday! I hope you've all had a great Easter weekend.  It has been very special for me because my daughter, son-in-law and grandson have come over from Ireland to stay.  We have done a lot of playing in the local playgrounds, we've had picnics, played football, and had a lot of storytime, too! Not forgetting Easter eggs! I loved every minute. They leave early tomorrow but hopefully will visit again soon. Anyway, back to our new Challenge at Dream Valley  which is to use Embellishments.   Our sponsor is the fab 'All Dressed Up' digital stamps.  I have a wedding coming up soon (Covid permitting of course) and used Wendy's cute 'Over the Moon' image.  I suspect it's out of print, as I can't find it, but she has so many gorgeous wedding images in her Etsy shop, do check them out! The background is from an old First Edition paper pad, and the XOXO paper has a spot gloss effect.  I used a Spellbinders circle die for the image and the match

My Time to Craft #479 Springtime Insects.

Image
Hello! Welcome to a new challenge at My Time to Craft! Our theme is Springtime Insects - butterflies, bees, ladybirds, ants, dragonflies, moths..... Of course butterflies were the first insect I thought about!  I used old dies from Love from Lizi and rose gold satin mirri card (by Tonic) for my butterflies.  The gold moondust strips are also from Love from Lizi.  The papers are from an old First Edition pad. My second card features bees from Paper Smooches (sadly missed.) I blended Distress Ink behind where the bees and beehive would go and stamped the sentiment which came from the same stamp set.  I coloured the images with watercolour markers then fussy-cut them and glued them in place.  I had a smudge near the sentiment so added 3 gold pearls. Check out the inspiration left for you on our blog and join in! Thanks for looking and stay well! love Mags B x

Dream Valley Challenges #267 Anything Goes.

Image
Eek! I'm so sorry, folks, I have just realised that I forgot to post about our new Challenge at Dream Valley on Monday! No excuses - I just forgot. I'm so sorry!  Our Challenge this time is Anything Goes. I decided to make some cute Easter baskets to fill with chocolate eggs for my grandson - because he (and his Mum and Dad) are coming over from Ireland for Easter! So excited! I followed a very straightforward Youtube video here by a lovely lady called Craftybit. She explained everything very well. The papers are from an ancient 12 x 12 pad by First Edition called Spring Fling, and the coloured brads came from Basic Grey long, long ago.  The chocolates were a Mother's Day present, and Ye Olde Manne and I scoffed them just after I took the photo!  Check out my efficient and UNforgetful teamies' fab creations to inspire you!  Thanks for looking and take care!  love Mags B x

The Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge #113 Anything Christmas Goes

Image
Evening, all! Sorry I'm a bit late with my post for The Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge.    I had a dental appointment this morning and after lunch, feeling a little sore, lay down for half an hour's kip.  Two hours later... it was time to start on the Tea.  So apologies, but here I am and here is my card! The papers and sticker are from a very old Christmas paper pad by Echo Park.  I put the sentiment sticker onto white cardstock to give it some body and trimmed around the edges.  Then I mounted it onto some paper from my stash and added Love from Lizi peeloffs in gold moondust down the centre strip. A fairly simple card, with a slightly retro feel, suitable for a bloke! Check out the Challenge blog for some fab inspiration! Thanks for looking and take care. love Mags B x

My Time to Craft Christmas #31 Use 3 or more patterned papers.

Image
Morning, all! It's April, two weeks away from Easter, so OF COURSE we have sleet and snow in S-E Hertfordshire! A good day to stay snug and warm indoors and craft! We have a new challenge at My Time to Craft Christmas to inspire you, and it's a great challenge - Use 3 or more Patterned Papers. I don't know about you, but I have so many patterned paper pads that this kind of challenge really encourages me to use some up. My first card includes some paper piecing/decoupage on a cute gnome from Simon Says Stamp.  I used snippets of 6 different papers. There's quite a lot of bling from gold glitter peel-offs by Love from Lizi, both straight strips and mini circles.  I added a glitter circle to the Gnome's hat, and layered the image on gold glitter card. My second card also uses Lizi's peel-offs, this time in silver, and a star ornament die that I think came in one of her kits a couple of years ago.  This time I managed to use 5 different papers.  The mats are al
