My Time to Craft Christmas #6 Winter Wonderland

Image
Evening, all! It's time for another Challenge at My Time to Craft Christmas our 6th Challenge already! This time our theme is Winter Wonderland , in other words, make a scene!.  I have made a Double Z-Fold card - Here is a tutorial by Jennifer McGuire. I used another old topper set by Hunkydory with this cute woodland scene.  There is a silver border around the image and the small squares on the inside.  The sentiment square reads 'To a Special Friend this Festive season.' My teamies have made some lovely creations featuring all kinds of scenes, do take a look and be inspired! Thanks for looking, and stay safe and well. love Mags B x

Dream Valley Challenges #244 Anything Goes!

Image
It's Monday! Time for a new Challenge at Dream Valley and our theme is Anything Goes. I made a very quick baby card, using a pack of coloured cardstock that was already cut and scored and which I have had in my craft hovel for years! The cute babygrow is an old die from Paper Smooches and I used a snippet of glittered paper to cut it out.  Behind it is some embossed vellum.  The sentiment came from another old Paper Smooches stamp set.  Finally I added some Nuvo Drops. Clean and simple and very pink! Check out my teamies' creations and join in! Thanks for looking and stay safe! love Mags B x

My Time to Craft #453 Stencil It!

Image
Good morning! Our new Challenge at My Time to Craft is a technique challenge - Stencil It! Unfortunately I can't find the stencil I used (it's SOMEWHERE in the olde craft hovel!)  I liked the geometric shapes, as this was my Olde Manne's Birthday card this year. I used Distress Oxides and the sentiment is from Lawn Fawn's Simply Sentiments stamp set.  I'm glad to say the Birthday Boy liked it!  Stencilling is so versatile, take a look at the examples left by my teamies on the blog for some gorgeous inspiration!  Thanks for looking, and take care!  love Mags B x

The Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge #90 Anything Christmas Goes.

Image
Good morning! We have a new Challenge at The Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge.    I have been going through my stash with the proverbial fine-toothed comb and discovered a couple of Christmas magazines from Hunkydory which came out last year, so I decided to use them up. This image is absolutely perfect for a good friend who is a birdwatcher and who likes his mulled wine at Christmas! The background paper is by Nitwits, and I used a strip of gold-edged card from the magazine to 'ground' the picture.  A quick card to make, but I'm pleased with it! Go and see my teamies' creations and join in the fun! Thanks for looking, and stay safe! love Mags B x

My Time to Craft Christmas #5 Die Cuts Only

Image
Evening, all! The last couple of days have been very cold and windy - perfect for staying indoors and making a Christmas card or two!   Yes, there's a new challenge at My Time to Craft Christmas and we'd like you to use Die-Cuts Only on your creations. No stamps! Just die-cuts!   I made an easel card, using Spellbinders Grand Circles and Grand Scalloped Circles dies for the base and papers. Everything I used came from an old kit called Festive Forest by Love from Lizi including the green die-cut foam deer which I used as a stopper. There are still some very pretty stickers and tags on her website here.    The one thing I always have to remember when making a circle card is to keep the width to 5 1/2 inches, as my largest envelopes are only 6 inches! I speak from sad experience.   My teamies have done some wonderful work as usual, have a look at the Challenge post to see just how versatil die-cuts are!   Thanks for looking, and s...

Dream Valley #243 Pretty in Pastels.

Image
Good Afternoon! I'm sorry I'm late with my DT post for Dream Valley Challenges. We have a lovely Challenge this time - Pretty in Pastels. Time for some Springtime colours, methinks!   Our sponsor is The Paper Shelter and the Design Team received on of their adorable images to use. I love to see how different crafters work with a particular image, and my teamies have done a great job! This is Ellie , isn't she sweet? I used a paper from an old pad of 'The Country Diary' flowers as a background and dug out a Spellbinders Labels die to cut out the image. The top left corner was a bit bare, so I added some punched flowers and leaves to fill it. The sentiment is an old Clearly Besotted stamp and the ribbon is from my stash.   I hope you're all keeping safe and well. Today it's exactly a year since Ye Olde Manne and I decided to go into lockdown, spurred on by the news that St Patrick's Day celebrations in Ireland had been cancelled. H...

My Time to Craft! 452 Make It Feminine.

Image
Hello, good evening and welcome! Our latest Challenge at My Time to Craft! is to Make It Feminine! Let's get girly! I've used lots of flowers and lots of pink to make a birthday card for my lovely neighbour. Everything came from the January kit by Love from Lizi which is called 'Fresh Start.'   The kit is sold out, but many of the items included are now available on Lizi's website here I absolutely love the delicate ephemera and the printed vellum which I used as my background paper.  To stop any glue from showing through, I cut a piece of thin cardstock the same size as my card base, then cut the vellum longer at the top and bottom and folded it over so I could glue it on the back before sticking the panel to the card.  Finally I added some flower sequins to give some bling. I'm sorry the picture is a bit pale, the colours are stronger irl. My teamies' beautiful creations are on the blog post, waiting to inspire you! Thanks for looking and stay...

The Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge #90 Anything Christmas Goes.

Image
Good morning! I hope you're all keeping well. Can you believe it's already March? Spring is on its way, but that doesn't mean we can't carry on making Christmas cards!  Yes, we have a new Challenge at The Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge. These fortnights go by so quickly! 2021 is The Year of Using Stuff Up, and for my card I went with an old Hunkydory topper and papers set which is long out of print! I made a cardbase out of blue Centura Pearl card and rounded the corners.   The background came with the kit, I used blue Love from Lizi peel-offs to border it, and added a piece of pearl trim.  Then I put Platinum stickles in the middles of the snowflakes in the background and added the toppers with foam tape.  I love that sweet Robin! Fly over to the Challenge blog to see what my teamies have done and have a go yourself! Thanks for looking, and stay safe and well. love Mags B x
